Valve stem seals are allowing oil into the cylinder. Burns at start up. Valve guides I bet have some excessive wear. Take it to a shop and the guide ware can be checked by setting up a dial indicator. Valve stem seals can be changed by applying compressed air into the cylinder, remove the valve spring and replace the seals and reassemble.

Well the most likely source of that is worn valve guide seals. As you know, your engine circulates oil throughout it to lubricate its moving parts. When you turn off the engine, whatever oil is remaining in the cylinder head sits there until you start the engine again and it begins to circulate.

What prevents that oil from dripping down the valves is a valve guide seal. When they become worn some of the oil drips down and is burned off in the first few seconds that the engine is started.

Now, it is not really a very serious problem, and you can probably ignore it for quite some while without doing any serious damage to anything else. However, if you are sufficiently annoyed by it, there are a few oil additive products that can help to swell some rubber seals in an engine that may relieve the condition a bit.

If you are really annoyed, then you can have a mechanic replace the seals, but you may expect to spend $300 or more for that repair--almost all of which is labor.

you cant do anything, have you canged the oil every 3k? it is vital on these cars to change the oil every 3k, toyota is having a major problem with sludge build up in the engines, maybe a engine flush will help, but i dought it, just change the oil and keep it changed on a regualr baisis.

It is probably water vapor.
If the smoke has a blue tint it has oil in it.
If it smells sweet it has radiator fluid in it.
See what fluid is low.- If fluid level is ok it is just water vapor on a cold morning.
