My suggestion would be for you to find a company that will be willing to allow you to enter into their training program. Most trucking company's insurance companies require the drivers to be either 21 or 25 years of age with at least 2 years of experience. In Texas you can drive within the state but you need a driving job to do that. There are places where you can start out as a yard man then work yourself up to a local and then longer haul delivery man. Starting out you have to start at the bottom. Best of luck.

My best friend just went to a community college and got his Class A CDL with several other endorsements, and he tells me no. You can drive a truck at 18 but you can't really leave the state. But, I still encourage you to achieve your dream. Im a pilot, and love every second of it.

You can only drive inside your state with a commercial driver's license until you're 21. Over the road, or interstate driving requires that you've reached your 21st birthday.

You need to go in and get your CDL's at the BMV. If you cant get them until 21, then the answer is no.
