My dad drove a Grand Marquis for a while. They have the same engine and chassis. It was extremely reliable and comfortable, safe, and surprisingly economical. They're easily repaired at Ford dealers. Parts are readily available and the vehicle is actually a recommended vehicle by consumer reports. Be sure to have your mechanic look at it. check online if there has been any recalls. Contrary to what other people say, if tire pressure is kept up and they are driven sensibly one might expect 20 or 21 miles to the gallon on the road.

Lincoln Town Cars are basically fancy crown victorias. They are not particuarly sophisticated or complicated, and anyone can work on them. I would say they have the potential to be as reliable as a taxi, the only real problem spot is the air suspension, which causes many old LTC's to sag at the rear.

The only problem I know of is their habbit of getting 3 feet to the gallon on gas.

And any car with more than 75,000 miles will need special care. They'll last forever, but you've got to baby them. If you're looking for low maintenance, find a smaller, newer car. You'll be better off.

Oh, you mean an overpowered road yacht? Great choice, if you don't mind filling up the tank with $50 worth of gas every 150 miles.

i wouldnt buy a big old american boat, its gonna break down, and cost you a ton of gas money anyway. buy something smaller, i hate to say it, probably foreign.
