Hi, all...this morning I went out to start my car ('98 Chevy Lumina) and when I turned the key in the ignition, the radio came on and the dash lights lit up, but nothing else. It wouldn't even turn over. I thought at first it was the battery, but if that were the case, the radio and lights wouldn't have come on. I tried it several times and still nothing. About ten minutes later, I decided to try again, so I went out, put the key in the ignition...and the car started right up. What could be the problem? Is my starter going? Or could there be another explanation? Thanks!

I've noticed when my car goes into first gear it makes a thumphing sound and feels like its sliping. It continues into 2nd, once out of second it is fine. Also when im going down a hill the rpm wil go up to 3 and also when im parking it will rev up and stay in 3 . It will not go down i just have to turn my car off. Another thing is i've noticed the thumping when i first start my car in the morning after it's been sitting for a while. The fluids are also fine.

I'm having trouble starting it, all I hear is a clicking noise. First there was dead silence, so I tried jump starting it, but it would not start, but I do hear a clicking now instead of dead silence. Is it the battery?

I am from the Philippines and most of the motor vehicles' windshield deposits cause problems with visibility especially when it's raining at night. This is particularly more evident when glare from oncoming vehicular lights practically blind drivers. I have tried hundreds of remedies ranging from commercial cleaning agents like ammonia, detergents, etc.but none really worked well. I was told these deposits are due to tree saps, insects, exhaust pollutants, acid rain, car wax and anything under the sun.

same reserve. I can not find where to ckeck the hydraulic fluifd, but can check the transmission fluid. So, I assume that the transmission and hydroulic fuid both reside in same
reserve.

I would commute to Oak Brook everyday and live in Oak Park. I think I would still have good city access with the public transportation from what I understand. I would like to live downtown, but I think the commute would probably be way too long???

I read in some car manuals that adding more than 5 quarts is too much for an engine intake. I have a toyota carolla (91) and i only put 4 quarts of oil in mine..I am just wondering should i add another quart to be on the safe side?

I want to buy a compact used car about $10,000-$13,000 and wonder if it is worth it to buy it "certified".

I am thinking maybe Honda Civic or Toyota Carolla.

Every car I have owned has had a fuel gauge that unevenly measures fuel in the tank. From full to 3/4 tank is where about 1/2 the range is. From 1/4 to empty is more like 1/8 of the tank. New technology should be able to give a more accurate measure of the amount of fuel left in the tank.
