I've noticed when my car goes into first gear it makes a thumphing sound and feels like its sliping. It continues into 2nd, once out of second it is fine. Also when im going down a hill the rpm wil go up to 3 and also when im parking it will rev up and stay in 3 . It will not go down i just have to turn my car off. Another thing is i've noticed the thumping when i first start my car in the morning after it's been sitting for a while. The fluids are also fine.

It might be that your transmission (assuming it's and automatic transmission), needs to be serviced. Sometimes, even if the fluids are at the levels they're supposed to be at, need to be flushed and cleaned out. This will happen from time to time. Get your car's transimission checked out and serviced.

If the problem persists, then you might be looking at some actual repairs that may need to be done. I guess it's not that bad, but always be aware of any difficulties you car faces.

GOOD LUCK

i wouldnt rule out the trans but if ur going down hill and ur rpm's r up that high it could b a (TPS) throtle position sensor, or lose vacuum hose that would explain the high idle and the hard shift into 1st. with ur car ildeing that high it would feel like the car is ready to get rollin b4 u even get it into gear

Yes, it sounds to me like your transmission has a problem. Have the fluid changed and see if that makes a difference. If not, you will need to have the transmission serviced.
