Im going to resto mod my vehicle but Im still not conviced by eather. What are the pros and cons that should help me make up my mind?

I drive the car around i know the basic about cars but why does my gear shift have a 3 instead of a 2 like most cars my gears are like this

what do i use the 3 for going uphill ? gives car more power ? i always use drive have never really shift gears while driving my car 2000 dodge intrepid 2.7L V6

I added a 5in suspesion lift to my 2000 Dodge Ram Extended cab long bed pickup, now there is a vibration when starting out from a dead stop. I was wondering if this could be caused by the drive shafts running at 2 different angles now.

My car was rear ended by a lady in an SUV. I agreed we could settle it out of insurance, so I got a quote.

Her husband called (who happend to be a cop..weird luck..but true) and he agreed to pay the quote I faxed him.
I could go through insurance if necessary, but wont. How do I ensure he pays the dealer repair for about $600?
Do I get him to write an agreement? What is the procedure to make sure he pays?

Any advice would be helpful...so far everything is ok, but I want to pin him down.

Okay, so it's a 2000 Saturn L100. Recent oil change and air filter. Now it's all of the sudden starting to jolt when I'm at idle. At that point, it just between .5 RPM to .7RPM then down to .4 RPM then back to .5RPM. Driving steadily, or even accelerating, it's fine, no hesitation. Also, oil temp is normal, half a tank of gas (filled up Sunday), AC is fine. Please help, I'm begging!!!

I really want a land rover but everyone i know is saying they suck and are expensive to repair and are so unreliable.
