if it doesn't blow cold at low engine speed it may be low on freon,,or it could be the fryer on it clogged up,,i have seen them work good while driving,,and not at all while sitting still,,or idling,,you may want to have it checked out by a good mechanic,,just to be sure,,either way it will probably have to go to a shop to be repaired,,good luck with it,,i hope this helps,

if your car has an electric fan to pull or push air over the condenser, the fan might be not working. With the engine at idle, AC on check inside the engine compartment to see if the fan is turning.

most common thing I've seen for that type of thing is a clogged up condenser. Look through the grill of your car, if there are a lot of bugs and stuff behind there, that could be the problem, if not...take it in. A/C should not be messed with by the average person...expensive failures commonly happen that way

It could be an A/C belt slipping, a faulty fan switch, a tempramental compressor or a defective fan. Among other problems. You should take it to an HVAC-trained technician to get a proper diagnosis.

Do you mean it doesn't not work at all? If it turns on, but the air is not cold, it could mean that your serpentine belt is slipping or you are running out of freon.
