With proper maintenance most modern engines can go that far. Or even farther.

The guy above me obviously doesn't know how to take care of a car. I've had several Chrysler products that ran well over 250,000 miles and were still going strong when I sold them.

I gave an old minivan to a friend a few years ago that had 279,000 miles on it. She's still driving it and has over 330,000 on it now. The paint is pretty sad and the interior is pretty heavily stained but it's still running well and gets about 1,500 miles on a quart of oil.

My 2006 Chrysler has 191000 + on it...my car still runs like new....just replaced the battery today... as long as your take care of these cars and don't drive it like a sports car then it'll last as long as you allow it....

No, it's not. Most American cars will not do more than 125,000 - 175,000 (if you're lucky). They are not designed to last a long time.
