Venice Beach has streets just like every other town, so learning to drive there won't be any different than any other town - just don't run over the guy in the speedo that walks around and does somersaults every few minutes. Gas there is higher than other places in the country, but that's the LA area, for you. Look in the phone book for the nearest DMV - it could be West LA or Hawthorne, probably. The price of a car will depend on what you want and who you buy it from. Do the research yourself, as you're the only one who knows the answers to those questions. People nearby? Have you not been there yet? People are THICK there. All year round. Have fun, its a crazy place, but can be a lot of fun.
