I bought a car about three years ago under a loan and can't remember whether the bank sent me a title or not. So right now I don't have the title in my posession and I want to sell the car. This is in Virginia

I have an old 1992 Volvo 940 GLE that gets me to work in Germany. It is making a "whirring" noise. I can't describe it better than that. It is coming from just beneath the Parking Brake area (center console). It is NOT in tune with the ENGINE rpm, but does speed up and slow down with the speed of the CAR. I am thinking drive shaft bearings. Anyone have any experience with this?

In other words, if I sell a car to a salvage yard so they can sell the parts/tires/glass, etc. (in my case, the car is in good shape but the engine is bad), what price should I request/expect for it?
Thanks

My older car died (1997 --193K). My newer car has only 7K. Should I fix my older car's engine ($1500-$3000) so that I can have a second car to run around in ... or just drive the newer one, try to keep it up, and put money into it for upgrades, etc.

I would like to know from other users what was their most expensive car repair till date?? Please mention seperately if it was paid by insurance and not from your pocket. But I would be more intrested in knowing about those who paid from their own pocket.
Im just curious enough because my mechanic gave me a big estimate, so I want to make myself comfortable by figuring out that its just not me but many have gone through this.

By the way can you tell me how much it would be labour + parts if I need to replace a Master cylinder for my 1998 ford escort lx, 4dr, rear drums w/o abs.

Have you noticed that when there is a queue of trafic or other problems on the road it is usually one of the above cars. Also dodgy are these little Japenese cars at the root? Serious answers only please.

I pretty much no what to look for when buying a car at auction. My question is this though: How can I find out what I need to do to turn around and sell the car for a profit? Is there a website to go to or a book that I can purchase? I want something that's gonna tell me how to do it properly. Something that tells me how to fill out the proper sale paperwork, title paperwork, etc.

Ok, I have been learning to drive automatic in my home country of UK but I am coming to work on a cruise ship all around the US and won't have passed my test by then. I have my C1 visa. After my contract I have 2 months to spend in the US so I will visit my aunt who stays in NC. Can I learn to drive and pass my test in the US even though I am not a citizen but will have my work visa?
