So my 924 has been acting really odd. My mechanic though it was a bad intake valve, but he told me to do a compression test first.

Here are my results (piston one is closest to front, piston 4 to the back)
with no spark plugs in.
piston 1 170lbs piston 2 170 lbs piston 3 0 lbs piston 4 0 lbs

with all plugs in except the one being tested

piston one and two the same

piston 3 and 4 now have 50 lbs.

wtf mate? Is that a bad valve, or is it a blown head gasket leaking across 3 and 4?

any advice on what it might be?

I own a 1984 firebird with an automatic tranny, and when you drive it, it doesnt want to shift to the next gear until you get the rpm's up to about 3500 rpm, and then when it finally does shift its a very hard shift. Ive already changed the fluid and checked to see if there were any metal shavings anywhere but there wasnt any at all. But anyways can anybody tell me what the problem might be and how much it would cost to fix that type of thing.

I am changing all my speakers in my 2002 VW Jetta. I'm starting on the passenger side front door, because that one is busted.

I removed all the screws from the outside and pulled it off the top but it seems to be stuck on something around the armrest area... I've read other bullitens but they don't go into much detail on how to pry it apart. I just don't want to break anything on it... If you can help, please write in detail. I am only 17 years old trying to fix my car!! Pictures would be a great plus! Thank You!

Surely satnav's should mean the end of studying the knowledge for years.
Would there be much difference between the route a taxi driver would take vs the route suggested by the satnav? Which would be better/quicker?

Have an 1988 Olds that was down for repairs for a while. During this time someone left the door partially open so of course the battery died. No problem, we took it to the shop and the stuck it on a slow charger overnight. Brought back the battery yesterday hooked it up and the car started perfectly ran it for about 5 minutes and then shut it off.

Today went out hit the door locks with no problem, put the key in the ignition and got the indicator noises tried to start the car and click. Nothing else just one click and now it's dead again. Any clue what would cause it to drain that quickly overnight? No lights were on and like I said everything seemed to be fine until I tried to start.
