Most likey you have a blown head gasket. If you do not deal with this then eventually the water will breakdown the viscosity of the oil and this can result in overheading and cracked head. Depending on the vehicle a cracked head can run you about $1200. Good luck.

Possibly blown headgasket.
Try this:
Take off your thermostat cap (the one that sits on the pipe from the engine to the radiator), and have someone start your engine. See if the fluid in there bubbles and surges each time the starter pumps. If so, that means that pressure from your cylinder is escaping into the coolant channels. That could be a headgasket problem, not too expensive to fix. If not, your coolant and oil channels might have corroded and leaked into each other. That might be bad by a lot.

This means that you have serious issues, like a blown head gasket or water damage to the engine of your car. Check your spark plugs, and look for a sign of water on them. If there is, you've blown a head gasket, probably.

A little water will build up if you normally drive your car short distances of a couple miles.
If there is a LOT of water, you need to decide if the car is worth repairing. It will cost a bundle to fix.Do you want to pour hundreds or even thousands of dollars into a 15 or 20 year old car?
If the car is very old, buy a new/newer one.

It can mean that you have a cracked head. But it is more likely that it is a blown head gasket.

You use the car for very short journeys and it is not getting warmed up, or you have an internal coolant leak.
