If you don't get the sound quality you require from the factory speakers then you should upgrade. You may be impressed with the sound quality of your factory speakers depending on what you have, but if it's an older car they're probably pretty crappy.

alot of people say to do it but i dont know... i have 2-fosgate p3's and i'm using my front factory speakers. i did change the 6x9's though. i guess it all depends on how good your factory speakers sound. Mine sound nice and clear so i havent upgraded yet.

No matter what you upgrade, it's only going to sound as good as the worst component. Do your speakers sound like crap? If so, all that other stuff isn't going to help much.

if you are going to up grade do it right so you wont worry in vice and acoustic go with Bose the best spacers their are and they give good bass also if u have 10'inch wof. it will sound like 12'inch wof.

You don't have to until your new system blows them up. I would suggest upgrading to at least some10s.
