I noticed that after I've been driving on the freeway a while when I slow down or stop I see smoke coming from under the hood. Also while driving my car will atomaticly act like its in neutral while still in drive. And sometimes when I go to take off it will jerk and then go. I had an oil change done in februrary and the car sat until july. Whats wrong and what do I need to do. Any help I can get will help alot. I would rather go to autozone or advance and get parts than go to a mechanic. please go into detail what I should do. Thanx to all who answer

The belt is still attached to the alternator, however, it looks like one of the pulley's broke off, thus causeing the loose belt. When I asked Kragen Auto Parts, they had NO idea what the problem was. HELP!

I drive a 5-speed and it's very slow at accelerating. I can push the gas pedal all the way in and it won't go any faster. What is causing this and what is the cost to get it replaced?

Well on my street its so small that cars keep gtting swiped , mines included as well as someone who lives in my house as well as others on the same street, now on the same street when you go to go out right or left its so hard to see if its a car coming if a car is parked on the crossing street, that you have to actually inch your car out to see if a car is coming or not.

My son pulled out of an intersection on a country road, there was gravel in the road. Another car was turning in where he pulled out. Someone came down the road behind him and said he had busted two windows and chipped paint out of a woman's car and he needed to come back to the intersection. He went back and a policeman was there and my son was given a reckless driving ticket.The truck is an S-10.My son is 16.He did not know anything had happened. They never asked him anything.The woman had her insurance agent contact me the following morning to inquire for us to pay for her car.My son says he was not driving reckless, all he did was pull out and there was gravel in the road and it was very hot and dry outside.We do not understand how this could break out windows.The truck was in my ex-husbands name and there was no insurance.

Also, what about when a person is turning left, they are in the middle of an intersection and the light changes to red before they can turn and they are still in the middle of the intersection? Is this legal? I'm not asking if you will actually be stopped for it, but is it legal? If you could give me a place to reference this information, that would be great!

I had a car accident, no injuries, no other cars involved, in 2000. I have gone every three months to try and obtain my driver's license/permit and every time the DMV tells me that I can't get it without SR22 Insurance. So I go to all my local and online Ins Companies, and they tell me, without a car, it will be at least $400 per month, and it must be for one full year, before it would go down. I can't purchase a car without my driver's license and insurance. Unless someone knows another way around this, my only option is to find someone who would put my name on the title of their car, which ain't gonna happen.

im entering college and have a 2005 impala that i bought less than a wek ago, i've noticed the gas is hectic it does 21-city and 35-highway so im wodnering what car i could replace my impala with in order to save money on gas. and exclude hondas please b/c every1 has a honda and i'd rather not have that car. im looking for a teenage male's type of car, not a family car etc. etc. a 2005 would be preferred.

i have a 95 Ford Contour. I love the car and have never had any serious problems with it. It's in really good shape, except...the car was getting hot all the time. It NEVER overheated and the head and head gasket are fine. My Dad just put a new radiator in it and thermostat. the lines are vapor locked and it's not circulating the air and it's still plugged.... if anyone knows anything about radiators , please e-mail or let me know why the hell my car is not "bleeding"?

How bad was your damage?
I hit a deer with our 1990 Buick and it tore up the whole front end, fenders, broke the headlights, bashed in the grill and the radiator, and killed the deer. That was at 35 MPH !!!
