Is it hard on the engine to run when the gas gauge is below half or a quarter? If so how does that strain occur?

Had already posted q. about Ford '91 Escort. Battery kept draining overnight after parking. Mechanic could NOT find any shorts after several days looking a few times too. Battery discharges overnight every few days overnight w.o9 warning. Then, the car's engine started turning off suddenly over the past few days while driving: Engine started to rev down, only to come "on" again suddenly a few seconds later. Is this a transmission problem? If not, what? If so, where near 11415 to get it fixed not expensive but good job. If not a tranny problem, where to fix it properly somewhat near Kew Gardens or Forest Hills, Queens, NYC 11415, or 11375 or on Metropolitan Ave. in Middel Village, perhaps somewhere...Frustrating...now months this way.

Do you think its stupid to drive from red light to red light with thousands of other people, wasting gas idling, putting brake pad and transmission plate chemicals into the air needlessly, and wasting a ton of time? All of that could be alleviated by synchronizing traffic lights so if you do the speed limit you make all the lights. It has been done before, why not do it now? If the country is at all serious about saving oil, its about time, don't you think?

my motor is an sohc motor in a 1.3 4cyl. 95' geo metro...it is able to start with the fuel relay pulled with priming into the trottlebody, but what ever controls the fuel released by the injector, has failed...but with so many sensors, where does one start to ck for faults, does the vacuume control the amount of fuel forced through the injector, if so, what would be the most conspicous of them all???I am trying to get this vehicle running for my parents because they are disabled, and like all, they have dr. apps. all the time...that is why this question means so much to me...and I will reward the one answer with a golden opportunity...to my archives of un-soliceted video...of extreme motor sports, and special, very special bonus features....I am for real....and my word is my bond... lordclawson@yahoo.com...for GoodTimes Media...out of Rockwall Texas...lookit up if u have ur doubts, but I'm really just concerned about getting my folks back on the road...tell me what you think...peace.
