Why do American car companies constantly advertise speed, wrecklessness and 'machoism' when it comes to their cars, when speeding and wreckless driving are against the law?

What is wrong in this scenario?...American car companies advertise speed and wrecklessness...and their business is failing. Japanese car companies advertise gas mileage and safety, and their business is booming. Why don't American car companies understand this?

I just recently had all my tires replaced and the next day my abs lights came on in my dashboard. Well, today the first time I hit my brakes my abs system activated or something and my van felt like it had no brakes for a brief moment. I have to work tommorrow using my van and I was wondering if it is dangerous and what might be wrong. Thanks alot for any help.

Hi my name is Christina Granillo. I'm having a bit of a dilema of what to do legally. I co-signed for a car for my boyfriend of 2 years and we just recently called things quits, however, he kept the car and refuses to discus the matter of what we're going to do with it. Since technically both of our names are on it I don't want my credit going bad and he refuses to refinance. His family is also helping him in fighting me on the situation. I want my name off of the loan and the car so that if he so happens to screw up on his payments they won't affect my credit. I tried telling him that if we were going to break up I was going to have to come pick up the car and sell it private party to pay off the existing loan on it and he refuses. He's also hiding it in his garage so that I do not have access to it. Technically I'm entitled to 50 % of the cars worth and I'm afraid that he's either going to sell it and sign off my name to it, which I don't want either, or missing his payments. So I'm not exactly sure, legally what I can do at this point to make sure that my credit doesn't get worse from him and this car. Please advise. Thank you.

Do you think telling a person to put in ear plugs because they are offended by the unlawful noise of a motorcycles is correct?

After all isn't that like saying: If you don't like being shot, wear a bullet proof vest or if you don't like being paint balled don't walk down the street?

With that logic, being that I enjoy a good beer or wine on occasion and urine is a by product of my drinking. Wouldn't it be ok for me to urinate on a motorcycle? After all, if you don't want pee on your scooter, cover it with a tarp or wear a rain coat.

No I wouldn't do it, but what goes around comes around

Our car (94 Volvo station wagon) has about 90,000 miles and is in good mechanical condition. The a/c has never given us any problems. Recently we took a 1400-mile round trip. On the outbound leg, the a/c worked great. Coming back, it was a little weak - it worked most of the time but occasionally it would blow lukewarm air.

Now it's hardly working at all. It will blow cold for a few minutes, then it will blow outside-temperature air that's really moist and unpleasant, and then it'll work again - but it never blows really super cold the way it used to.

Any diagnostic suggestions or tests we can do to figure out what the problem is? Thanks in advance!

I am looking to buy another engine for my lexus GS300. Is there anyway to tell how used an engine is? Or if it's a "good" engine.

Parts it has: Engine-390 (.60 over), comp 268H cam, Performer dual plane int., Holley 750 vac. sec., '67 2 bbl heads (mild work), K&n air filter, comp 110 elec. fuel pump, 3/8 aluminum fuel line, pertronix ignitor ignition, cool can.
car: 4.11 gears, 275/60R15 BFG drag radials

What I have tried: replaced carb with a 600 edelbrock, replaced fuel pump with a new comp110, checked fuel pressure at high RPM's, upgraded valve springs, swapped out different igniton systems.
With all of these changes the car still bogged out at the exact same rpm's. It's like the engine cuts and barely runs for about 5 seconds. once the rpms slow back down it runs like normal right away again but even if I put it in neutral it still takes about 5 seconds of feathering the throttle to get it run smooth again.

The engine went 6000rpm with a much larger cam before I put in the 268H. but it makes a ton more power now and I went from a 14.7 to a 14.3 @95 shifting @ 4900. problem ever since cam swap thanks.

My car is like 10 yrs old with dings and scratches, but earlier today when I was in the process of parking my car, I made a short short turn, in which instead of parking I, in the process scratched the front bumper (below the headlights). Is there anyway that I could smudge some blue colored permanent paint to blend in with the blue car of mine .. perhaps at Kragen's or Auto Zone? I'm sure I'm not the only one who scratched a car before so what did you guys do to cover up the damages? By the way, I own the car and it's pretty old, but looks do matter so I'm thinking about fixing it up. Any ideas?

when i put the car in gear as i accelarate she feels as if she is going to stall (hesitating allot) so i give her more gas or pump the gas pedal to make her go- what could be causing this? I noticed it's only when i accelarate- when i maintain a constant speed she's fine. that's why i don't think it's a problem with the fuel line or anything having to do with that. My guess would be the spark plugs- any suggestions? thanks a ton!!
