Do you think telling a person to put in ear plugs because they are offended by the unlawful noise of a motorcycles is correct?

After all isn't that like saying: If you don't like being shot, wear a bullet proof vest or if you don't like being paint balled don't walk down the street?

With that logic, being that I enjoy a good beer or wine on occasion and urine is a by product of my drinking. Wouldn't it be ok for me to urinate on a motorcycle? After all, if you don't want pee on your scooter, cover it with a tarp or wear a rain coat.

No I wouldn't do it, but what goes around comes around

Why is it ok for big trucks, car alarms, sirens, or anything else to make noise, then? You are assuming that you have the right to pick and choose the sounds you hear, which you don't.

If you don't like noise, move to the country.

I suggest you test your theory by going to the nearest biker bar and pi$$ing on all the motorcycles.

The logic is there and I see by some answers, the bikers don't like it when you use their logic against them. "Bikers are Stoopid"

Ok, I admit, I ride a motorcycle, stock pipes and have ridden for more them 40 years. Harley's, Indian, Ducati, Bultaco, Honda, Yamaha, Greeves, BSA, Triumph, BMW. Moto Guzzie...name it I probably rode it and I probably had more hours on a motorcycle before puberty then 95% of the bikers out there.

There is legal noise and unlawful noise. Trucks with mufflers are lawful, sirens are lawful on emergency vehicles and the sirens gotta be loud to be heard over the bikers with loud pipes and wearing ear plugs. Not to mention Granny listening to Slim Whitman 8 tracks.

Ya gotta respect to be respected. If you think Loud Pipes Save Lives.....try the invention called a HORN. They make em' with more dB then and pipes.

here is where I grew up...my grandfather started it www.spitzies.com

Come on leave it alone there is a war going on right now in the Middle East of the world, if you ride a bike or drive a car have respect for each other, I've seen it all, it's not a motorcycle, chopper, harley, by the way check the Daytona Harley shop out off I-95 in Daytona, and go to the racetrack you will think a motorcycle is loud and annoying...

Seems to it is all a matter of mutual respect. However the biker crowd wants respect without giving respect. They want their slogans and motto's, but want to punch out anyone with an opposing idea or thought. Maybe that is why bikers like Nazi symbols.

Hey life is a 2 way street and if the biker group don't clean it up, it is going to affect the whole of the motorcycle community.

Take a look at this.....this is what its coming to and for the bikers it will be a loosing battle.

I ride a Harley with stock pipes and it is not loud and I am not going to change them. But for the people with loud pipes there is going to be a lot of new laws in the next few years making them illegal. And there is all ready a few city's that have outlawed motorcycles all ready. We need to show respect towards other people to protect our riding privileges .

Im just gonna ditto Jacalaz2003.

Mine also has straight pipes....Dont like it?

Good...when im on the road...you stay off it.

In respose to FLH. We want respect without giving it??!?!? Where have you been riding? You cant tell me that you have been riding a million years or whatever and NEVER been cut off...never had some soccer mom with a cell phone in one ear while the other hand putting on lipstick almost hit you. Bikers havent gotten any respect. When they do...maybe loud pipes wont be needed.

I just love it when I see Harley biker wanna be moron going on about his loud pipes claim they are going to save his life.
The only thing that's going to save your life is defencive driving. If granny has the windows up and the a/c blasting, Pavarotti blasting away in her Caddie, she just ain't going to hear you. Well maybe when your right beside her and she can't see you until it's too late. That Caddie's going to flatten them pipes as she rolls over you.
Pretty soon, because of these "life saving" exhaust pipes, the law makers are going to force you to put your mufflers back on. You won't have a choice or pay lots of fines on top of alllllll the taxes you paid when you bought it.

Yes, there are rude bikers, just like there are rude smokers, cell phone users, and drivers. Some people think the world revolves around them.

If the pipe noise does indeed exceed legal decibal level, and it is bothering you, then call a cop.

No thats not polite

But telling people about their loud exhaust isn't polite either

Either way it's really none of anybodys business

Try controlling the LOUD 18 wheelers before picking on a Sunday Biker.

Their Damn Jake brakes rattle the windows of houses every where they go..

I live in downtown Dallas I ride a blue sv650. There aren't many here so it will be easy to find. Piss ALL over it. Just like you said. What goes around comes around

MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You don't understand motorcycles. People cut you off. You almost die because you're trying to save gas money. If they weren't loud it would be much easier than it already is to not see them and hit them!!!! So shut up and quit bitchin. Damn crybaby.
