I have heard that there is a sort of theory test and then a driving test for internationals wishing to drive in US if they are permanently based there. How would you go about taking this test/learning for it, what difference is there in the cars over there (other than being the opposite side!). thanks!

After I imported the Impreza GF1 from Japan, it was very fast and was performing optimally. I gave the car to a friend and on return, the cars capability to pick up speed was so compromised, and it was struggling to pick up speed from one gear to the next.

I changed the engine oil, fuel filter, oil filter, plugs, battery, air filter with new subaru spares but the situation did not change so much. Please help me understand which engine oil is good for my car. Currently, i'm using Caltex - Formula (i havent crammed the grade).

How can I boost the cars ability to pick up speed??

Thanks for yahoo answers...

After the engine warms up, the car judders whenever you put your foot on the accelorator. The juddering gets more violent the longer the engine is running.
Starting from cold first thing in the morning, the engine is fine and runs smoothly! Ive taken it to a mechanic but he couldnt find the problem.
Any ideas?

I got up this morning and my 'T' Reg Saxo was unlocked but there was no signs of a forced entry but it was clear that someone had got inside. I went to lock it using my key fob and when i locked it, the locks popped back up again. I went around and checked all the doors were shut properly, etc, but it still wouldn't lock. I had to use the key in the end. Anyone know what could be wrong?

My car makes a knocking nice when I go round a corner ( mainly left ) and accelerate at same time, if I go round corner without accelerating it is fine. I've even had my driveshaft done thinking it could have been the cv joint. My car is a citroen saxo diesel.

I'm in a country where the standard is Manual Transmissions. I have an Automatic Tranny. I seem to find myself braking more often than standards. Am i braking too much? If so, how do i prevent this? Should I punch it to "2" or turn off overdrive so that i drop a gear?

I just feel like I use my brakes more than I should.

the car that I'm working on had a 35 tooth driven and a 19 tooth drive speedometer gear assy. the rear ratio was 2.41-1from the factory- and the trans. was never touched- the parts book correlates that gear assy. too. The customer had put another rear end in the car and it was 2.73-1 and never changed the speedo- it read too fast. I determined with my limited math skills that a 38 tooth driven gear recalibrated the speedo.
IT read correctly.
Now the customer replaced the rear with a 3.73-1 and I am having problems finding out what the driven gear needs to be- any math wizards out there? please help me?
