I have a 1973 Motorhome with a 440. My buddy hooked up my battery while I was underneath working on a brake line. I noticed smoke from the alternator and yelled at him to unhook it. It now has a dead short. I think it is the fatest wire going to the alternator, because as it turns out it also smoked under the dash. I located that wire and traced it to the alternator. So, what do you think fried? Any help would be appreciated very much.

I have ford taurus93' when I put some kind of gas it run good, but sometimes it run badly, it can not go faster specially uphill. the mechanic told me it is not transmission problems,Some times my car take a long trip to run faster. I am tired of putting my car in emergency lights when it runs slowly and frustrated me.
Any advice about this weird car

Ok I am 22 yrs old. I have like a 630 credit score so its not that much..... I want to buy a no more than 15,000 car. I am going to put like 8,000 down payment. you still continually drive 20 mph over the speed limit? you still drive vehicles that get poor mileage, but yet you say 3$ a gallon gas is killing you?? if it really was you would change your bad habits! so obviously you all have deep pockets and the oil companies know that you will not change unless gas gets to 5$ a gallon. so look for prices to stay 3 to 4 bucks a gallon from now on!!!!!!!!

My tourque converter is unplugged so it will run and I know that doesnt help but the gas milage has recently gotten worse. Someone said it could be the fuel injectors...any ideas of what it could be?

Tonight as I was driving down the freeway, I passed through a stretch that was illuminated by streetlights on light poles that were much taller than regular streetlights, about twice as tall. The height of these streetlights really grabbed my attention. What is the purpose of these very tall lights? Why are they only in certain places?
