There is never a "first person on the freeway"...traffic continues morning, noon and night, never stopping.

I live in a neighborhood where I can hear the freeway traffic all night long. Im listening to it right now. Now, when the clock says 12:00PM, there is still plenty of traffic sound indicating that there isn't just one car but plenty of them on the freeway. Perhaps different regions have different ammounts of traffic at night, and maybe you live in a place where this question will yield different answers. But as for the freeway next door, 100 miles away from San Francisco, we get traffic all day long, and all night. Ever wonder why its one of the deadliest? I sure don't.

People are on the freeway all night. Whoever happens to be on exactly when the day changes fits your question.
