And also, can you use an iPod? I thought I knew but now I have a doubt... I have no idea where I'm supposed to categorize this question....

Yes you can... once you are airborne.

There is a list of approved electronic devices in the back of the IN-FLIGHT magazine.

I just returned from a trip on ATA airlines. My son brought his Nintendo DS and he was able to use it onboard. I had my Ipod as well. They ask you to turn off all electronic devices prior to take off, then shortly after you are in the air, they announce you can use your games and such. Same procedure in reverse when you are preparing for landing. They ask you to stop playing prior to landing.

You can't use electronics during take offs and landings.
During normal flight you can use an iPod/DS/PSP/laptop, etc.

yeash, just not during takeoff or landing, cuz u don't wanna screw up communication between plane and tower
