I'm in a country where the standard is Manual Transmissions. I have an Automatic Tranny. I seem to find myself braking more often than standards. Am i braking too much? If so, how do i prevent this? Should I punch it to "2" or turn off overdrive so that i drop a gear?

I just feel like I use my brakes more than I should.

Your transmission doesn't have anything to do with how much you have to brake.
The distance you put between yourself and the car in front of you does. Also, how much you accelerate does also.
It's all about paying attention to the flow of traffic.

Don't use your transmission for routine braking; it isn't designed for it. Believe it or not you should use your brakes for braking.

Just be sure that your left foot stays on the floor board. People who drive automatics using both feet (varying gas and brake at the same time) are the ones who really mess up their cars.

Overdrive is usually the way to go, but as long as it's not a prolonged stop (e.g. taking 2,000 meters to go from 40km/h to 0 or something like that), braking shouldn't be a cause of concern.
