that is without delay. It usually takes 2 weeks for direct deposit. I am just wondering if our refund will be delayed. not sure exactly what happened with the taxes...kind of messed up..but after review we agreed to pay it (to those who think we are scammers--not so--just family of 6) Anyways...we just are curious if when they deduct our back taxes for 2005, if that will cause a delay in our direct deposit refund??

Is there a site to get a ballpark estimate on your return? I don't have any deductions or credits so my return is as simple as could be. I'm just looking for statistics. Ex. 10k-20k income will earn you roughly 43% of your paid taxes. Stats like that so then I could just do the math to get a ballpark figure on what I'll be getting.

Ahem, allow me to elaborate on the above question. I currently reside on a military installation, which by all acounts is government property, however, why is it in PG county people who live on said military installation, but work in a different county are to pay PG county taxes on top of MD state tax on top of Federal tax?? I thought there were laws against paying taxes twice for the same thing? Since when does a military installation belong to a county???? Is this legal??? If not, what are the measures to getting this problem rectified. (I'm never using H&R block again)

I understand that there is going to be a phone tax rebate for a certain tax paid on long distance during certain years. According to the article I read, you'll be able to itemize if you have records or take a "standard" deduction. Does anyone have details on what that tax is, the exact dates, etc.? I have our phone bills covering the time in question and would like to sit down and figure out which is better (itemizing or not) for my situation. But I need to know, especially, what tax I should be looking for on the bills.
