I just started my own small business last week. I told 3 friends and they all asked "Who are you selling that stuff for?" "Do you really think someone is going to buy that organic junk?" I didn't hear congrats or anything. One of my friends threw my store's email address in the trash. I know that friends and fam would get my name out there quickly, but I don't want them spreading negative comments about it. I started this from scratch and am doing pretty good so far. I thought about waiting until I get in a newspaper or more exposure before I mention it to them. What do you think?

I'm working on a VSM at the company I work for, and I can't figure something out. We have multiple suppliers for one product (around 13) and the materials they supply are needed in different steps of the production process. Do I then need to map all of these 13 suppliers to the left side of the map (making it quite a mess with all the product flows), or can I just map them under the production process, where the materials are needed? I dunno what best practice is here... Good advice will (naturally) be awared with a best answer! Thank you in advance!

Recently I hire a 17 yr old girl.I realize her best friend would come 30 minute after she start the shift.Purchase a coke or food and sit there for 5 to 8 hours everyday. When business is slow, her friend would stand up and talk with her.If I set a new policy as NO friends and family are welcome.I will lose some of the customers. What should this new policy be?

The regular ear muffs only mute part of the noise but don't eliminate it completely. I need the ones that totally isolate from any noise.

I've been working on starting up a webdesign business but I can't decide on wether I should make my company a sole proprietorship or an LLC. I like the extra protection that an LLC provides but is there really that much risk with owning a webdesign company?

Does anyone find this rather unfair?

Situation:
My boss (a dentist) has two dental offices. A main one (7 operating rooms with 3 associate docs and 10 employees in staff) and a branch (4 rooms total with just the main doc and 4 employees in staff).

I work at the branch.

The doctor went on a full week vacation with his family.

The manager closed down the main office but made us, in the smaller office, come in all week.

The manager's logic is that we need to take incoming phone calls from patients.

But the MAIN office gets on average 20 new patients a week while we get around 4 new patients a week.

Since I'm moving in 6 weeks and trying to earn up every which way I can, I took it as a "earn wage without doing much work" type of week.

But of course there are the three others in the office that would have preferred a vacation and spending time with family.

What's your take? Should this have been reported somewhere?

I hate ebay, I dont want to have to pay or have anyone else pay for shipping costs. I am looking for people who are interested in buying 'yardsale' items without me having to do a yardsale. In other words get ahold of me and you can come inside my house and look at what I have for sell. I have a TON of boys and girls clothes from birth to 6T. I have Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Magic the Gathering Cards, books, and other misc. items. I live in Eastern Iowa, I need money badly, all these items are 'yardsale' priced. Please let me know if your interested or email me at random.madness@yahoo.com. Thanks!

I'm a 27 year old stay at home mom of 4, I have a great idea and really think this would work. I am looking for a partner to fund my business. A silent partner would be great, but at this point any partner will do. I live in eastern Iowa so anyone from Iowa or Illinois would be great. I'm a hard worker, I have the means to make this business work. I just dont have the financial ability to do so. Anyone interested or know where I can find a partner elsewhere online? Thanks so much!!
