First off how old are you? I see some people charging about $30 a day, but I guess its based on your experience.

Well alot depends on how old you are, your experience with kids, how old the children you babysit are, and how many you are watching at one time. If your just a young teenager then you should probably charge about 7-10 dollars an hour for one or two school age kids. If your babysitting babies or toddlers then you might want to start a bit higher around 10 - 15 dollars because they are usually more work. Another thing you could do is just let the parents set a price that you both agree on, thats what I use to do when I would babysit.

Find out what others charge in your area. If you are a kid, ask your friends who already babysit and ask for the same amount. If you are a mom, check on what established daycares charge, and stay a little below that.

I charged $7-8 for daytime per hour per child, and $10 for night time per hour per child.
