With the price of real estate predicted to be dropping in 08, does it mean that brand new homes, which today are already selling for cheaper than used homes, will be even cheaper next year? When do you guys think will be the best time to buy?

With the amount of foreclosures now (and especialy in a few months) in the city of las Vegas, how long do we have before being forced to move out? January 1st will be my 3rd month skipped in payment. My husband knows a couple of people who are still in the house after 8months without paying the mortgage. Is it the norm?

I'm looking at condos in Boston area. I see some decent places between 200K and 250K (decent not great), that I am interested in. I don't have an agent yet and I'm just looking around. Knowing that with taxes, bills, mortgage, savings etc... my buying power is actually 170K, what's a good offer on a 200K condo?

A lot of these places are overpriced and overassessed. I was thinking 150K would be ok with hope that the owner will counteract with a 160-170K. What do you think. What's the basis for a good offer on a brand new place or place with minimal/esthetic repairs?

I've asked this question before and got both a yes and a no. It seems that realtors responded with a yes and individualls responded with a no. I found the property and this is not our first house. I am also a very good negotiator on price.

1. What would a realtor bring to the table for me that would earn them 3% - approx. $20,000?

2. Is it true that the seller has already signed a contract with their realtor agreeing to pay them 6% to be split with the buyer's realtor no matter what...meaning if the buyer doesn't use a realtor that the seller's realtor gets to keep the full 6% thereby not giving the buyer any additional leverage on price?

Made offer of $50 thousand on house, so I can get bank loan.
House listed for $49,900. In purchase agreement< I ask for closing cost plus if inspection shows need repairs. Seller will cover cost. Got a counter offer that if inspection doesn't pass. Seller is out and that seller will pay closing cost,. However. The asking price would change to $52,900.
Is the seller giving me a red flag on the repairs. My realtor says Go For It. It will only increase the payment by 6 to $12 a month over 30 years.
The closing cost are going to be around $2,600 with Interest rate at 6%. I feel like the realtor is working against me. Help!!

Why do people in the ghetto think that have to act and behave in a destructive manner?

In NYC, the New York City Housing Authority buildings are absolute hellish!

Cheap rent does not mean destructive behavior or does it?

What is your view?

I was in the process of buying a property and our offer expired. I was not very happy with my agent's performance on this offer due to numerous reasons. I never signed a contract with the agent and I am thinking of using another agent to put another offer on the same property. When our intial offer expired, I did not hear from my agent and I think he got the hint that I would not use him again. Any advice out there?

My Neighbours are fine and I can't hear them, but I signed a 6 month lease in a basement suite and last night was my first night sleeping here. Well, there are such loud creaks and bangs in my bedroom and I think it is from a room in the basement that says Machinery Room. It sounds like somebody is hitting the walls, pounding the floor upstairs and creaking their bed every second but the apartment upstairs is empty so it must be the heater and the sound traveling or the pipes. I even bought earplugs and could only get 4 hours of sleep and I am nine months pregnant so I need more!

What can I do? I signed a lease so I am pretty much stuck here but I can't even lay in bed it is so noisy. I have a feeling the ladies at the rental office won't even do anything. :(

I am going to look into beginning my first flip. Is there a network of investors for beginning RE flippers? I don't have the cash to buy and rehab my first property but most of the work will not be contracted out, but done by my "family" of handymen. Does anyone know of a site or place in MA where I can find the investors for the projects?

I was told you can buy a house at one of these government tax foreclosure sales for about $600, and the house is worth a whole of alot more like a house of the value of $180,000. All you have to pay is the property tax light, water... and the house is legally yours? Has anyone else heard about this, is what I been told accurate? Where else can I find out about this type of sale my self, Thanks for your help.

Ok. well the apt i live in has only two stories. there is two sides with 4 apts on each side. I am on the bottom and have a sliding glass door. awhile back i came home to find a man trying to get into the glass door. I called 911 and filed a police report. than i called the leasing agent and they told me not to tell anyone who also lives here. They said they where going to make it that you have to have a key to get into the building. Tonight some teenage boys where hanging out by my apt door and walking all around the building. No one on my half has a teenage kid. I am at the point where i do not feel safe anymore. my lease is not up till the last day of may. i have tried to talk to the leasing agent and they said i could go if i payed them about 2 grand. what can i do? thanks
