I knew someone sometime back that did it, but I cant for the life of me remember the name of it. Any suggestion would suffice, I can look all of them up.

If you are in the UK, there are rent to buy schemes, but these don't let you live in the house 'free'. You pay part rent/part mortgage repayment. I can't think of any scheme that allows no payment at all, other than 'equity release' schemes, but those are for older people, designed to allow them to have some of the capital tied up in their house released to them.

There's no loan that's free while you live there, unless you have a rich family member. There's no reason for a lender to give a loan like this - there's no money to be made.

From experience you should not buy a home when your broke ("poor").
