I rent an apartment in PA, and live above a Family from India. Well I have no porblems with the family they cook a lot of ethnic food, and some of the spices they use can really couse some harsh odors if you are not used to them. These odors have started to travel up into my apartment, and make me very uncomfortable. When I approched my landlord with this he informed me that there is nothing he can do regarding cooking smells. My lease does state however that the comfort and rights of other tenants must not be interfered with. Excessively annoying sounds, odors, activities, and lights are not allowed. The landlord claims that cooking odors are not covered by this. My question in regards to this issue is can anyone tell me if I have any sort of rights legally or otherwise in making the landlord take action in this matter? if so can someone please provide me with a link to any additional info that might be useful on this topic.

My stupid landlord didn't pay the mortgage which I kind of assumed when the sheriff was here looking for him. So anyway the date of public auction is 10/27/07. I am going to start looking for an apartment tomorrow, but does anyone know how much time I will have to move and do I need to continue to pay rent?

I am 7 months pregnant and have an 8 year old son with special needs. Should I be looking for something right away or do I have until maybe November 1st?

Thanks!!

My house has been on the market for 10 days, including 1 open house for the public. My agent has not received any calls for appts during this time. Am I too assume that the house is overpriced? She told me that she thought she would've had some calls by now and that she's doing everything she can,
(she has my listing on realtor.com along with her agencies site.) She also said that Sept is a slow month for real estate. Will you please tell me if agents market homes in other ways other than relying on the internet. I am ready to dump this agent as we have already have a contract on another home. She is already hinting at cutting the price. She sent me some comps for my home and all the homes have sold for 5-20K more than our listing price, except for one which is about 5 miles away and not in a residential neighborhood. Please advise, I am feeling quite anxious.
Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I have a mortgage but am talking to an attorney about BK. They are asking to see the deed to the house - but I wouldn't have that since I still pay the mortgage, right? The bank holds the deed don't they?

We have made an offer on a home in Denmark that is listed for 2,595,000dk (about $520 000 CAD... cheap in Denmark). In Denmark, the sellers agents show potential buyers the home and buyers do not have a representing agent of their own. This home has been on the market for close to 4 months. We've heard the average selling time is 7 to 8 months. It is considered a buyers market now (although I haven't seen the prices budge much since last year!) The home is in excellent condition however is somewhat outdated and could use some remodelling (it is liveable as is). I'm at a complete loss as we have always had agents with the capabilities to see what prices similar houses in the area have sold for negotiating for us. We offered 2,400,000dk which is 7.5% lower than asking, hoping to negotiate to about 4% below asking (what the selling agent told us was reasonable and usual). After we made the offer, we were told the seller won't budge more than 0.8% from the asking price. Were we reasonable?

Ive posted this already, but Id like to get more perspectives.
My landlord took $100 out of my deposit to repair this http://s230.photobucket.com/albums/ee204/fiddycentson/
interior piece of crap door that was being used as an exterior door. Its obvious that its been repaired multiple times (you can see all the compounding material) and has been rotting for god knows how many years. I spent all winter trying to get him to replace and now he has the balls to blame it on me?

on top of this, after suing 3 months later leaving the apartment and receiving my security deposit- 100 for the door, he decides to counter sue me saying that I left the apartment a mess and left terrible stains o on the rug and that what he originally took from me didn't cover the entire cost of his door.
Is he in lala land or is the world just totally screwed up?

He shouldn't of written me a check along with a total of deductions if there were more. I think its pretty obvious that hes just retaliating against me.

The seller purchased the home a few months ago, fixed it up and is now selling it. During an open house last weekend, someone who used to live in the home 3 years ago told me about the problems that the property used to have (water leaks, etc). Also, he said that when he purchased the home, he was told that the previous owner had died in the home. Shouldn't this now be disclosed by me to any current interested buyers of the home? Obviously the current seller doesn't know any of these things, since he never actually lived in the home. Do I just casually mention it to the potential buyers, or should I document this in some way? The guy signed my open house log so I have his number btw...

I have a tenant who is allowing her daughter's boyfriend to live at the house. He is not listed on the lease, nor will he be able to get on the lease since my house only has two bedrooms. I will be fined if it does not stop, but when I talk to them about it, they tell me that he is not living there. What should I do?

I was trying to get an apartment with my husband, but our credit is bad so we needed 2 co signers. My husband and I signed the lease but then our co-signers backed out on us. The apartment complex told us that they had the right to keep our security deposit. Is this true? My co signers names are also on the lease, they just didn't sign it.

Due to loss of income my wife and I are looking at foreclose. We both have been unable to acquire new jobs that will pay near enough to sustain us. We are almost 6 months behind and have already vacated the residence in fear of finding it locked up when we get home someday. The property has been on the market for 7+ months. We continue to substantially reduce the price every 3-4 weeks but have had no interest. The banks lawyer has finally wrote us a letter of intent to foreclose. I talking with a friend we discovered that my wife is on the Deed BUT not on the mortgage. My friend doesn't think the back can foreclose due to this error. If so, this would give me some extra time to try and sell the property. Does anybody know if this is true?
