I am planning on buying a house and my lease is up august 31st. This will work fine for me but my apartment complex states in my lease they will need 60 days written notice if i plan to move out or i will go on a month to month lease for considerably more then i am paying now until the sixty days is up. So if i give them written notice tomorrow and move out august 31st when my six month lease ends can they come after me for the rent for the extra 30 days? And if they can come after me what will they do? Thanks

We are in a 12 month lease. In May, our landlord gave us a 30 day notice to move out. We told her she can't do that because we are on a lease. But we did say that we would start looking. Well, we found a place. If she tries to change her mind about us moving now, can we use her 30-day from May as official so that we won't be charged for the rest of the lease?

We moved in to a home for rent on 4/1/07. I just found out today that the homeowner wants to put the house up on the market only 4 months in to us living here. Is that legal? We signed a 1 year lease agreement and live in California. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

If a homeowner doesn't keep up with his property taxes, the government can seize his house . I heard you can buy a house for a fraction of the cost if you pay the back taxes . How can I find out which houses are available and how to buy them ? I've met my county commisioner a few times, that's any help .

We have a 25 year mortgage which renews every 5 year term. What happens at renewal time? Do we have to re-qualify for the mortgage every term? Or does it automatically renew with the latest interest rate? We are not behind at all but our credit is not good like it used to be which worries us about our mortgage renewal coming up.

Our roommate and I are not getting along. He got a new girlfriend, and she is constantly fighting with my husband and I. She practically lives there, but isn't on the lease. She's causing many problems, and I have become very stressed. If I continue to live here, I will end up depressed. I can't eat in the kitchen or watch tv in the living room because she is always there. My husband and I fight constantly and have thought of divorce because of all the problems with our roommate.
My husband is in the military and we really want to move on base, but we have to get out of our lease!!! We've lived there for a year, and still have 7months left! WE need to get out of the lease! Any ideas? I've already requested a copy of the lease.

My husband and I are looking into buying a house. People suggested to buy a foreclosure home because it's cheaper than a "normal" home. Is it true, that it's cheaper or are there any additional costs that I wouldn't have with a non foreclosure home, so I'd end up paying more? How do I find foreclosure listings? I looked online and found a bunch of foreclosure listings but you have to register and pay in order to look at them.
Thanks for your help! :o)

security deposit. He did the walk-through and said he was happy the way we left everything and that he would pay us when he could. We were understanding. It was $750. The only thing we had to finish was the stove inside and frig cleaning. He said it was ok to come back to do this' so my husband came the next day and started to clean, spraying the inside of the stove with oven cleaner and moved the frig out and cleaned the frig inside and left the drawers to dry on the counter. The third day after moving my husband was going back to finish and the landlord came to out new apartment and asked for the keys back before we finished. He said his wife did not want us to finish. I wrote to him a month later about our security and he responded and said he still doesn't have it. Then a month later he writes and said we left the place a mess and is not returning the money, with pictures of the oven with oven cleaner in it. Also estimates of a spot on his wooden floor for $750 .

We signed a contract on a new home in March. New homes in our development have been selling slowly and last week were lowered in price by ~$25,000. My home is still being built and will be ready sometime in October. Do I have any legal way to get the builder to lower my price as well, or am I simply stuck?
