I am planning on buying a house and my lease is up august 31st. This will work fine for me but my apartment complex states in my lease they will need 60 days written notice if i plan to move out or i will go on a month to month lease for considerably more then i am paying now until the sixty days is up. So if i give them written notice tomorrow and move out august 31st when my six month lease ends can they come after me for the rent for the extra 30 days? And if they can come after me what will they do? Thanks

They will probably want the extra month. Read the lease carefully and if you need help see if your county has a landlord/tenant dispute department. Sometimes when they get involved everything goes away-magic! If there are a lot of units empty in your complex they will be more likely to be a pain. You don't want them to be difficult if the Lender has checked the housing references yet so use discretion.

They can, if your lease says you had to give them 60 days notice.
