You probably have to pay utilities like cable, electric, gas. You avoid water bills, heating bills, grass cutting bills, condo fees and all the rest that your landlord pays.
Sometimes if they are desperate for tenants they will throw in paying some of your utilities also to sweeten the deal.

*Electric, (here's a neat trick: call the power company and ask what the last bill was for that apartment. Check that the doors and windows seal well and consider whether you want the top floor apartment: it will be warmer in the winter but, hotter in the summer! If the power bill is too high it may not have enough insulation in the attic!) (You might be able to ask the power company what the average power bill is for that apartment community if they can't answer it any other way.)
Gas-sometimes depends on where you are in the country!, some places pay (winter will be higher (a lot higher) call the gas company!)
water and garbage as part of your rent?
*Cable? Some places come with it!,
*Phone-some people just use their cell phones.
Renters Insurance - Heh now that you are planning to do this, protect it! some places require it. The only time you will wish you had paid attention to this advice is when there is a catastrophe. So if you are in a high risk area-take care! and plan well!If you are moving-consider moving closer to where you work and that way you won't have an increase in what you are currently paying for gas for the car.
Try to find a place close to the shopping too or that you have a grocery store , gas station and such on the way home from work. Good luck.

This varies wildly place to place. I'd advise asking the landlord/ apt manager of each place you see if they can show you past utility bills (some will, some won't). Also, if its an aprtment just bang on the neighbors doors, before renting, and ask them. Most people will have no probelm telling you what they pay, ballpark amount.

It all depends on what apartment u go to.Some have free electric and u have to pay for water.Or vice a versa. It is always under 50.00 for elertric.I live in a moblie home and I pay 30.00 to 40.00 in the winter.Summer is higher due to air conditioner.Water is usually under 20.00.Then don't forget the phone bill. That also depends on what type of phone u get. If your looking for a apartment then find one that pays for electric it will be alot easier then. The the gas is what kills me.Heat cost alot in the winter.Around 80.00 to 120.00 for me...Good luck

I recall getting by on a meagre $150 CAD monthly when times were really lean just a couple of years ago. If you're relatively disciplined you could run your place for about $250 including all utilities and water without great personal discomfort.

Take the 770 per month place. Utilities can run very high. And this offers the cable and Internet with Utilities too. Wishing you the best!
