I am planning on buying a new house at the end of the year. I am also interested in becoming a realtor. So, if I get my realtor license soon, can I buy my own house and pocket the whole 3% buyer realtor fees?

I always hear how owing is so much better than renting, but now I'm having my doubts. I'm shelling out Property Taxes, Higher Insurance, and the cost to maintain really adds up to a lot of money. I know I'm building equity, yet the cost to maintain is staggering: paint, upkeep, new roof, furnace, having to purchase tools, lawnmower, snowblower, home improvements, etc...I'm beginning to think the public is being deluded that owning a home is so great, while I could have greater peace of mind(and less expense renting.) I would like to hear from Realtors and Homeowners what is Really the best way to go.

There was a house for sale that I was intertested in (which I think was a building soc repo) and the estate agents were asking for offers in the region of £139K. Obviously they wont tell you what their best offer so I said that I would offer £2K above whatever their best offer was ( assuming it to be somewhere around £140 K/ £145K. After a few minutes of furtive conversation between themselves they decided that they didnt want any more offers tho this was before the closing date and I was sent on my way. A few months later I noticed that someone had moved in & during a casual conversation with the new owner found out that he had got the property for less than I was prepared to pay! Obviously someones palm was being greased at the estate agents, but just how untrustworthy are they..... if I had asked them to sell a property for me I would expect them to get the best price not the deal that best lined their back pocket. Anyone else had similar experience or estate agents comments

My exhusband and I bought a house together and both names were on the deed, but only his on the loan. He let it go back and it has sold for $5500.00 more than was owed on it. He claims he is entitled to the $5500.00. Is this true?

I have a credit score of 538 and am working with a credit repair group. I had a miscarriage and my husband filed for divorce all within months of each other and had suffered sever depression. As a result I lost my job and was unable to pay my bills. I have since then am getting back on track and have a steady job. Unfortunately, I now have a repo on my credit and owe about $5K for various things. None of which is credit card debt. I want to move into my own place (I'm living with my mother), is it possible to be able to get approved to rent my own place with such a low score?

I was an idiot and was chipping out frost from my freezer with a butter knife. Of course I ended up puncturing the coolant line and now the fridge is dead. Will I have to buy a new fridge to replace a 20 year old one (guessing it cannot be fixed since it is 20 years old and I do not think you can use the chemicals now that they used back then).

I know it was my fault and it is my responsibility, but will I have to buy a new one to replace a 20 year old one?

i live in a basement of a house. it is very cold & it smells. i pay 425 a month which includes everything. this is in greensburg, pennsylvania. i hate it. the fridge does not work right. it freezes everything. i have complained to the landlord but he has done nothing. anyway, i don't think i signed a lease. i have only lived there since september of 2006. i am looking for another apartment. if i signed a lease & i just move out, can my landlord do anything to me? i was supposed to pay him a security deposit but could only come up with $150.00. i don't care if he keeps it. i will clean the apartment. what will he do if i don't tell him & just move out? can he go after me? what if there was no lease? i really need help on this asap.
thank you

So I live in Denver and work fulltime. I moved into my apartment with my friend the end of December, and about 3 weeks ago he bailed out on me. I cannot afford a 2 bedroom apartment all on my own, but the lease is until next december, and I just can't seem to find a roommate anywhere! I've posted numorous time on Craigslist, and other roommate websites. Since I work and don't go to school, I don't know many people my age who would need a place to live. The apartment is reasonably priced (417 including all utilities). Does anyone have any ideas to help me find a roommate? I'm getting desperate. Thanks

The renter who has left unit, has left an inch hole in the door. I can patch it, but she did ruin the door. Can I charge her for a new door? Eventually this hole will weaken the door, which will cause further damage--and I will need a new door.

Last night while my mother in law was on the way home, a snow storm hit here in KY. She sit in 5 hours of traffic, then decided to come to our house and wait it out. She takes her min pin with her everywhere. After a few hours here a snow emergency was declared and the highways where shut down, she had noway of getting home. This morning we were served with an eviction notice, because the dog stayed here. Our lease does say tenenants will not have a pet. I tried to explain to my apt. manager, but she wouldnt hear it. She told us we have 14 days to get out or she would begin court eviction. I told her to give me back my deposit and this monthes rent and we would leave. She told me she gets to keep both since we went against the lease. This is the first time we have ever had a problem with them. We have lived here a year and always pay our rent. Do I have a case for wrongful eviction.

My landlord said that he was told I have a man living with me. I told him that was not true that I have a boyfriend who spends nights occasionally and he said that was not what he was told. He asked for my boyfriends name and I refused to give it to him. He then proceeded to tell me if I do not release my boyfriends name he will evict me. He has sent me a letter stating all the things he told me verbally. The letter was sent in the middle of january and now it is the middle of february. I paid this month's rent and told him I will pay every monies I owe and move out the 28th of february. He was very upset and said horrible things to me. My lease states that I must find a suitable replacement for the apartment but I would not recommend this man to anybody. He stated that he will be keeping my deposit for next month's rent. Can he do that?

this is in addition to my previous question "can i sue to get my money back" (please read). is it posible for me to sue for the future mortgage paments that i would have made? when i talked to the home owners they told me that when it was time for you to "refinace" the bank would only give up $150,000 and we would have to come up with the rest. my mortage payments are based on my house being worth $185,000. now it's obvious that the company knew that so can i sue for the amount i would have been outed??
