I've heard this many times, but don't understand it. Here's my scenario...I own a rental property worth $600,000, and am looking to sell it and purchase a different rental property for $2,400,000. Is 1031 exchange something I should be talking to my accountant about, or is it not related to my scenario?

When I mean decent I mean a 4 or 5 bedroom house, with a large kitchen, and living room. A inground swimming pool outside, and with 31/2 bathroms. Witch Grantite, and marble countertops? 255,322,191 GPB converted into US Dollars it's $500,000.00 dollars. And over here in the US you can find great beautilful houses like my description. So anyone from the UK who can answer that, or anyone really that would be great. I plan on moving to London someday.

Hi, our whole apartment building has been seeing roaches. We all went to the landlord with our concerns. At first he was giving each of us our own spray. Whne the problem grew way worse we all talked to him again. He had a person come in for 3 consective months and put down live bait, which is supposed to kill, them and render the males sterile. We have seen little improvement. I have boughten my own spray..entirely bleached my house, and put down bait traps every where.
The landlord has not sent the guy back to keep up. The guy doing our building could tell where they were coming from which is the apartment next to mine..the tenants before were extremely poor house keepers..
My question is do I have any legal rights with him due to this problem? Is there anyway to demand the problem be taken care of? Can I with hold payment for rent?
Where do I start with this?
We did not have this problem 6 months ago, its new. also this in NE.

I have always heard that owning a house is better than renting, but I don't really know what to believe anymore.
My fiancé and I just signed a new lease. We are renting a brand new 3 bedroom house with a pool for less than 800 a month (from a friend of the family) I think that this is an amazing deal. I really wanted to look into buying a starter home (around 150-175K) but with the added Taxes and Insurance (we live in Florida, near the water) it would have been at least another 600-700 a month added to the principal. My friends who recently became first time homeowners are struggling each month, and I can't imagine myself wanting to be in that kind of situation, sacrificing other things, just to call myself a homeowner. Am I wrong in my thinking?

My current contract expires in about 2 months and I am planning to move to another apartment, since I have always had problems to recover the deposit from previous landlords (not because they withhold anything, but because it took many calls from me and time requesting the money back, I am planning to tell my current landlord to take into account the deposit as my last month of rent, is that fine?

I don't understand. Up until the last year or so, Real Estate values were skyrocketing, now that it is a so called "buyers market," Why aren't prices dropping that fast? I want to purchase a home, yet the prices overall havn't dropped that much.
I live in a mid-sized community in the Midwest. Anybody got any ideas?

Im new to the industry and have been a L.O. for about 1 1/2 months and would like to have some advice on how i can close some loans. I've pulled aps and went on some appointments, but those appointments seem to be more of a waste of time even though it was a learning experience. It seems like the leads from title is not working so well bc i am cold calling and not drumming up much business, what would be some alternatives to better qualify a potential client?

I have been watching a home for 8 months now that i really like. It was initially listed at $339,000 and was reduced to $329,000. It has been empty since May and the reason for the sale is a divorce. It was purchased two years ago for $339,000. My first offer of $290,000 was countered with $325,000. I have 3 days to respond with my counter offer. I was thinking $301,000. Does this seem reasonable? I live in a rental property that I paid off so I really have it made but love the house. In fact so much that we would have been willing to pay $329,000.

I would love to become a real estate agent. I seem to have a passion for evaluating real estate, amoung other things concerning the industry.

How much, on average, does a real estate agent make in a year. Can you be a real estate agent and have a middle to upper middle class lifestyle (while providing for your family)?

People who said renting was foolish, are just that FOOLS !
I ran the numbers, and if someone were to rent for let's say $1,000 a month, and invest $500/ month into some mutual funds every month, in 20 yrs they'd be better off by far. The housing boom is over !
Renting is the way to go, you're never trapped like a house, no HIGH TAXES, INSURANCE, LAWN MOWING, LEAKY ROOFS, ELECTRIC BILLS UP THE WAZOO, ON AND ON AND ON.
People actually are dumb enough to think they make a profit on a house, but they fail to remember all the taxes, and misc. bills each month, most barely break even. I will be selling my place this year and renting, investing in the market each month with no headaches, and no frivolous bills like $400/ month just for heat.

WAKE UP FOLKS, HOUSES ARE A TRAP, A LIABILITY, NOT AN INVESTMENT. DON'T BELIEVE ME, SHOW ME ONE GUY RENTING IN FORECLOSURE!! CASE CLOSED.

p.s. the only people who made money on houses were 15 yrs ago, and that was just dumb luck.
