Explaination: We are selling our home and moving to an area where we can not afford a house (Northern California) what we do want to do is buy land somewhere else and keep it for a few years and either build on it or sell.

My real question:If I use the money I make from my home selling to buy land is the taxes different or do I still get the same tax benefits I got being a home owner? Is land vs. home taxed diferent?

I'm emailing some people I'm going to be living with, and I don't think the lease is prepared yet/ready to be signed. I'm informing them in the email that I'd prefer to wait on handing over the deposit until the time I sign the lease. Is that appropriate? (Otherwise it feels like blindly handing money to strangers.)

I read that in a real estate ad. I know it's not on an actual ranch though.

for first time buyers, with not so stellar credit. if i can pay for the whole thing in one fell swoop, why is everyone advising me to take a mortgage?
wouldnt it be better to buy it outright? then i wouldnt have to sweat coming up with a monthly sum- a mortgage doesnt seem so different from having to come up with a rent to me

Hello,

Do you think I could get financed on a summer home worth $90,000, if I put $18,000 down, even with bad credit, FICO about 520. Thank you for your help.

I am looking to move into a new flat in UK. Can I look for any flat I can pay for or should I look only for flat rentals less or equal to three times my monthly wages? I know some agencies ask for such cover in other countries but is it so in London too...?

Thanks!

My husband may be accepting a job in another state. We would like to keep our house and rent it if that is possible. I have reviewed our loan papers and do not see anything that addresses this issue. Is it okay to do this or do we have to have approval from the lender?

We live in a high priced neighborhood and now we are weighing our options as whether or not to move. Moving will be a tough option, but we thought we bought into pure class with strict homeowners rules.

Our residents are ignoring the homeowners association by continuing to leave up trampolines (forbidden), bb goals (forbidden) out front, masses of kids running the neighborhood cutting through all the yards, trash and toys laying EVERYWHERE--lots of loud screaming. Where does the responsibility fall on homeowners to ENFORCE the rules WE bought into? Now I feel it is nothing anymore special than we owned before because you have the families who can't afford to live here unless they buy together. How does this image, trashy toys, and stuff laying everywhere affect our home value? Is there anything I can do to MAKE the homeowners association enforce the rules in the book? I regret the day we put the pen to the paper.

I'm going to be opening a retail space in/ near Long Beach Ca.
My business is not likely to have a huge change in sales due to Christmas.
So, if it's not critical to be open by Christmas, can I wait till after Christmas to sign a lease and expect to get a cheaper rate per month? My thought is that more people are trying to start retail businesses before Christmas, placing a demand on space. Then after Christmas there will be more businesses shutting down due to the drop off in sales. So I thought there might be a glut of space available in January driving the average price per foot down.
Is this reasonable, or is the reality different?

I'm going to apply as a first-time owner and upon speaking to a mortgager I was told that I had to increase my credit score in order for them to work with me. or have 15% down payment of the home I wish to buy. Does it still take years before the credit score is improved?

Does anyone have any advice for buying a home if you have low income and bad credit? I live with my fiance and am disabled, but not on disability yet. We both have miserable credit, but his grandmother has immaculate credit and will co-sign. We just want a nice house in the suburbs of Huntsville, AL, where we live... we are tired of throwing rent money away for nothing!

He currently makes under $13k a year, which I know is not much at all.

Does anyone have any advice for us? We aren't in any hurry, of course, we are looking to buy within the next two years, tho... preferably the sooner the better, but we know better than to hope for that.

Thanks!

My property taxes just went up ($300 monthly) because I dont show the house I bought a year ago as my primary residence. I purchased the house for my mom because of her bad credit. Since I still show my own house as my residence, and my mom is not on the mortgage, how can I show her as primary resident and not as my 2nd home. She pays part of the mortgage. I just dont want her as a homeowner so creditors dont go after the house if there are problems in the future. Or should I just try and write off things as a rental when I do my taxes. $300 monthly on top of the mortgage, insurance, and taxes is a lot in MI with the economy the way it is...
