Renting & Real Estate - August 2006

[Selected]: All categories Business & Finance Renting & Real Estate

I work for a Real Estate agent and am unsuccessfully trying to collect payment for finding a renter for a condo owner.
This is the second time we have provided this exact service to this particular man, but this time he is dodging the invoices, emails, and phone calls for the payment.
What can I do to get the fee?
Thank you for your input.

I was recently told that my name is down as owner of a vacant lot that I used to rent a trailer on. I never bought the land or had anything to do with it since I moved almost seven years ago. How do I find out if my name is down as owner and what to do if it is?

I have been burned before by web sites that just list the time share and don't push to sell it. I have also had it listed with a broker for the past year without any results. I just want to get out from under the loan. I want to find a reliable source that can successfully sell the time share as soon as possible.

I've never heard of one who actually helps, who gives a rat's behind whether someone is getting a bad deal or not. They all just seem to want to take the commission and run.

this carpet is very old. i would say it was here at least 5 years before i moved in, which would make the carpet about 12 years old. my landlord wants me to pay half of the cost to change it. is this the landlords responsibility

If I get a broker license and register my own company but work from home (i.e. don't really have an office outside of my home), how do I hide my private residence address on my business cards? I don't want the whole world to know where I live.
Thanks!

I'm 50,000 in debt with student loans, however, I have managed to save about 20,000 with a credit score of 820. I recently signed up for a foreclosure listing site but a lot of the homes were dated or no longer available. I was also pre-approved for a mortgage loan of 300,000. My other question is....Can I purchase a foreclosed home with the loan I was approved for or do I need "all cash" to do so?
Also if anyone can refer me to a great agent who deals with foreclosures in California would be awesome...:)

I live in shared apartment. My roommate who was the main person on the lease is moving to a different state. I cannot take over the lease because I don't make enough money. I plan to post a classified ad to find someone who can take over the lease. Is it a bad idea? What are the potential pitfalls? What to be aware of?
