I am the webmaster of a financial freedom and personal finance website.

The URL is:

http://www.financialfreedomtrail.com

I am trying to craft a theme phrase that will be memorable and paint a mental picture so people will easily remember to be financially responsible.

The main theme is:

"You must spend less than you earn."

The problem is that it's boring, and people have trouble living by this essential principle.

So far I only have:

"Not managing your money wisely is like forgetting to check you fly when you come out of the men's room"

As you can see, I need something better.

Maybe something like, "Spending more than you earn is like........."

Please help me finish the sentence.

Thanks

I have about $60,000 in student loans. I am now only paying interest right now because I had to defer them in the past. I have heard that if you pay ahead it just counts towards future payments, but I would really like to pay them off early and try to pay less interest.

Gonna cut a long story very short and I would appreciate someone with proper knowledge to answer this please :) I have a loan out with HSBC and missed a few payments. After a lump sum went into my account, they then took 3 payments out in a lump sum, leaving me wiped out. I received no notification that they were going to do this. Is this legal? If it is not legal, could someone please let me know of any legislation about this, as I am intending to take this further with the bank and (if anyone here banks with HSBC) knows that they can be little bu**ers! Thanks in advance :)

I was just reading through a few questions about loans and people asking for advice. Did anyone else notice when people said they were in financial trouble all of these offers for non-secured loans popped up? I read one answer and there must have been about 5 different lenders who all appeared dodgy. Eg: They had a FREE email address..... No reputial company would need a free email host.

My question after all that:
Can you actually borrow money from another counrty under a loan condition? Is it legal? Are they dodgy?

Thanks.

I currently work in ordinary office job and will be finishing MBA school next year. I'm rather tired of doing the same thing month after month and was thinking of taking some time off after graduation. Thing is I still have bills to pay..can I apply for unemployment or assistance for some kind? What's the best way to finance this endeavor (legally)?

I really mean it. I've seen women that are rich marry a super rich man and expect the man to lavish and pay for their $500K weddings and they look and act so greedy.

I feel if a woman who is poor or middle class truly loved a guy that made bank, she would not want to drain his account but be concerned about him and his financial secruity. If a woman loves a man I believe love would matter not a Cartier rock that blinds you. It's not in my heart to cheat or scam like the other girls do, but maybe that's kind of what the guy likes a woman that will take him for every penny.

YOUR THOUGHTS?

I make $13.32 per hr and do 40 hours a week. I think I'm averaging about $300.00 extra per month with my fledgling handyman adventures.

I think I have to bring in more from the Handyman biz or look into some foreclosure type of deal.

I do not want to live with anyone else and I do not want to mooch off of the government.

I would prefer not to get into some disasterous debt.

Insanely enough the real question seems to be: "how does one live rent or mortgage free alone?"

At this point in time I would even give serious thought to allowing the Government attach a third arm to my hip as an exchange for a home!

Thank you for your answers.

I noticed nearly 300 pounds taken out of my account.
I questioned this in my branch. They looked into it and asked me if I remember the transaction, which read on my statement 'ROSO pmt cc' . They later told me it was an error and credited me, but did nt go into detail. Any ideas.
Thanks

I've seen it happen a million times out here in the vanity of Orange County - but I'm still looking forward to payday.

I'm digging the comforts of "financial security"... though I'm not very frugal with my loot.

do you agree with this saying?

and how do you keep your bank account stable?

Im 25 and off to university to hopefully improve job prospects. But my younger years were spent racking up debts and now leaving me with not very much cash. Of course, studying wont leave me with much time as i will be working part time. i am getting my student loan, but that will cover my tuition fees, expenses and rent. Nothing for my debts.
So what Im needing help with is what i should do? Should i contact all companies and inform them things might go a little off in the months to come? And does anyone please know any way to get cash from home. (note: i have sold everything 'sellable' on ebay already)

If you were to get $450,000 from a lawsuit just out of curiosity, how long would it last before it was all gone...my friend just went through this much buying a used car and gambling, food, and going out to eat every night in about 6-7 months.
