If the date is in the future, the recipient tries to cash it, and the bank notices that the date hasn't occurred yet, they will not cash it and will probably return it.
If you do write the wrong date on a check, line it out, initial the line-out, and put the correct date on it.

Well, depends on the situation. If you still have the check you can void it and write another, or strikeout the wrong date and place the correct date next to it (make sure you initial it). If you already mailed it out and it's post-dated the company probably won't accept it, so I'd call the bank and cancel the check, then write a new one.

If you wrote a future date on a check you gave to someone the bank is not supposed to cash it until that date. But sometimes they don't notice & cash it anyway.
If you wrote a past date it should be fine, unless it's stale-dated (very old date) Then you might have to write a new one.

well, im guessing you could be on your last chance. To me it depends if the person you gave the check to with the wrong date will nark on you or make a complaint. IT DEPENDS....
