Ok, I have a HUGE credit card bill...like, 15k. i have only one credit card, so this is it. i take home about 2,600. i have a home, i have been investing for 3 years in my Roth IRA and 403b.

so far i have put my car up for sale for a less expensive car, that will make my payment about 1/2. i've also cancelled my retirement contributions for this year (i know that's bad but that's my motivation...to get back on track and contributing again ASAP) and i have taken a roomate who will may about 1/3 of my mortgage and 1/2 the bills.

i'll have about 1,100 a month after i've covered all my bills. but obviously i have to buy food and gas. i've already informed friends to NOT ask me out for dinner, etc... and i don't need any clothes for work or anything.

i feel like i've done all that i can as far as freeing up my income to start attacking this bill.....yet it's not enough!!! i'll still be doing this for maybe 2 years...but i need to get it done THIS YEAR.

Ok so I got a personal loan through a company I knew nothing about and I do not have perfect credit so I was happy they gave me the loan but now they are calling everyday even if im 1 day late and my interest rate is 96%. No debt consolidation place can work with this company and no other company will approve my loan to pay them off.
I owe $3000 to this company and I am making payments of $216/mo. I am going on maternity leave and just cant afford it but I cant afford for them to take me to court either.
Does anyone know of a company out there that can give a bad credit loan, ( i do not own a home either) to payoff this other loan company?

My Husband and I are stil unsure of renting or buying right now...Its kind of complicated since he just got out of the military and we just moved back to MA across the country and are currently staying with my family. We always used one car because e lived on a small military base...now we NEED to cars because Im starting a part-time job and I have to small children...My husband also works a hour away 48 hours at a time! So a car is a MUST! I have money in my savings but im saving that for the house (we are using the VA Loan) Will it hurt us to take out a small auto loan for like $4,000? My husbands credit score is about 710...We also have no credit card debt at all....We have three cards but only charge gas and pay them off right away...And we have one car loan out thats a couple years old for $12,000. thanks!

Hi All,

First off thank you for reading this.

My question is, should i cash out my IRA early to pay off credit card debt?

Here is my situation:

I am 25 years old and i have about $19k in credit card debt @ 17%.

I have the following saved via IRAs:
- 401k = $40k
- SEP-IRA = $12k
- ROTH-IRA = $13k

Total ~= $65k in retirement accts

Does it make sense to cash out say 2 of my IRA's EARLY in order to get this debt off my back?

The way i see it is my IRA accounts are NOT making more than im paying in interest and basically it is nonsensical to keep bleeding this money. Only problem is based on my research, i see no less than a 10% penalty on my IRAs... so this will be a very costly way to eliminate my debt.

This debt is a real PAIN in my *** as i am currently unable to save money due to constantly paying the Card (and other recurring bills of course).

Any input will be GREATLY appreciated OR if you have an alternate suggestion, I would love to hear it.

Thank you!!

I'm looking for a percent that I should put away from each check. My expenses are limited... $183 toward car payment /month, $40 for the gym /month, $60 for the phone bill /month. I get paid around $800 post-tax every two weeks. I am looking to save for two seperate things. One is for vacations the other amount I would like to put away just to start a savings account. I appreciate any sincere answers...I just graduated college, this is my first job with a steady pay check and I want to be smart about my money! Thank you!

I'm not sure how to put this question. I recieved some money orders and need to cash them (it is work related) and I was just wondering if there is a way that I can verify that they are real and that I will have no problem depositing them in my bank.

I had 3 major surgeries last fall. I had insurance that covered 80%, but the 20% is still more than I can handle. I don't want to file bankruptcy. I heard that the debt consolidation companies charge too. I dont need more debt! Should I wait for all the agencies to send my bills for "collection"? Some have already and the interest that they charge monthly is outrageous...Help... What should I do?????

I have a 30yr fixed 4.93% interest on my 140k home, I currently owe 130k. My monthly mortgage is $1.116. If I refinance, according to several sources, I can lower my monthly bill to the 700-800 range. How is this possible if I would be refinancing at a higher interest rate, around 6%? With my fixed low rate, is there any reason besides a catastrophic event to refinance?

Of all the stupid mailers, this one worries me the most! Capital One continues to send 'pre-approved' applications to me, but they go to my old address. Junk mail is one thing, but this is a risk to my credit as far as I'm concerned. Were it not for an honest tenant who gives them to me along with other junk mail that still finds it's way to his door - where I used to live over 2 years ago! - it could otherwise be possible for some crook to sign the app off in my name and risk my credit rating being compromised! Nearly every 6 months - like clocwork, that application is delivered. I live in Canada and am unaware of any government campaign available to opt out of this stupid mailer. And I've even returned the app with 'Not Interested' written in boldface over the whole damn application. Capital One is either too stupid or too stubborn to stop the mailer. Any suggestions?

A part of me feels that I should keep these -what if I need them in the future. I have too many of these and would like suggestions on what I should really keep and throw away. thanks....
