There are certain accounts that state, in order to be opened, you cannot already gave an account with another bank. If someone did not declare to that bank that they already had an account, can the new bank check if you have an account already, or is it based solely on your declaration that you do not?

Thank you.

I came across this site today and it looks like a genuine opportunity to make some money. I mean, work is involved, but it seems possible..and being paid instantly is a big + and hard to find. Anyone tried it?

Is it smarter to:
1. Save up as much money as possible and to just pay a little over minimum payments on all bills.
or..
2. Save just about no money at all and get out of debt. Then once out.. focus on saving money?
Thank you for your help..
By the way me and my husband are in debt fairly bad, and were trying to get on our feet. It seems everytime i pay on a bill, barely any of it goes through because of all of the interest and finance charges. Thanks!

0n Aug 22 I went to the bank. the bank teller transfered 500 dollars from checking to savings then I gave her500 cash to put in my checking account. she then handed me my recipt and I was on my way. Then on Aug 24 I went to the bank to takemoney from my savings and asked for a print out of my checking acct and I was 500 short. On the paper it showed that the bank took out my 500 dollars! I asked them why and they said they cannot explain why but the teller was short 500 & i will be credited that money. I still had all my recipts and the print out showed both 500 depostits one for cash & one trans for 500. I went home and called the automated service & my money 500 did not post! I called the teller who did all these trans. she denied I made any deposits although I have all the documents(I also have copies of her cash in tickets where it shows she did accept cash & deposit into my acct. The bank said I may have to swallow $500 I do not know what to do HELP! What next I am so sick!

Do you have to report your earnings from playing poker online to the IRS on your taxes?

If so, is there a designated amount that doesn't need to be reported - and everything above that does?

If it matters by state - I am curious about California.

Also, the way the monies are received from the poker site are via check.

For 3 years now I have lived paycheck to paycheck and I am so tired of it. I only make enough to pay my bills and survive though so will I ever get to set money aside or save? Im worried about my future and what I will do if I ever got myself into a bind (unemployment, medical problems, etc). I dont have time for a 2nd job either. Im at a loss.

My husband keeps wasting our money on video games and other useless crap we can't afford, then he tries to hide it from me. He throws away his receipts and won't record them in the checkbook, and he has never paid a bill in his life. If I left it up to him, they would never get paid. I can't trust him with our money. I don't want to treat him like a child and take away all of his credit and debit cards, (besides he would be really really mad) but I have tried talking to him about this for the last 2 years it's been going on, and he just won't stop being irresponsible with our money. Any advice?

Means testing for social security is imminent. The age for full benefits can only be raised so high. Being responsible now by funding IRA's will backfire later when I will not be paid as much as someone who didn't save. Not saving is not an option. Can I begin transferring money to my children via gift, with the understanding they will return it later? I realize it would technically be income, however they could pay for my home, car, or my whatever; without actually transferring cash.

I am in the process of checking and repairing my credit.
My question is: If you have had a past account purchased by another debt collector, should not the one whom sold the account be deleted from your credit report? If they stay on your report you have two or three sets of the negative information on your credit report. If you know the answer, please respond with a way to correct it. Thank you

I no longer have contact with my father (long story) but needless to say he was a nasty man. I remember seeing the bank/building society book and that it had the stipulation that I couldnt have it till I had reached a certain age (which has now passed)
I just dont know who to approach, there is no family to help me as such. I just wondered if there is a central database or an organisation that could help?
Thanks in advance for your help guys n gurls :)

In a nut shell, things are changing at work and they are making us decide between 2 options. The best I can describe is…..

The first option is take a pension when we retire, in about 30+ years. This pension is only worth 7 years of my working time. This means that I won’t get a full pension, like I would if I worked there 20, 30, 40 years. I have only been there for 7 years, so the pension would be small and based on 7 years.

The other option is a 401k match at 6%, up to $6,000 a year. There is no pension when I retire, just the 401k plan. This option starts right away.

What do you think is best?
