Have had a lot of bad luck this summer.
My gas bill is on a budget, but what happens if I only pay part of my budget this month?

My gas bill is on a budget payment plan. The bill always shows the budget billing amount and the actual usage. There is also a running total of the accrued balance on my account. This is normally below the budget payment amount this time of year. The bill specifically states I can choose to pay that balance and be switched from budget billing back to actual usage. If I choose actual usage. A budget billing amount appears on each bill. I then have the option to re-enroll in budget billing simply by paying that amount. It you can't pay the account balance, call the gas company to discuss your options. They may have energy assistance programs that you might qualify for.

Depends on your company. Do you pay more than what your costs actually were? If so, call them and ask to use the overpay to make up the difference in the bill. Ameren UE does this all the time. Right now we have a difference of $987 against the coming winter fuel bills. See if they will consider using your excess for the payment. And if not, contaact them anyway and ask what arrangements can be made. Don't just NOT pay it without contacting them.

It could be turned off, and cost much more to turn back on. Contact the gas company for assistance; there are some programs for people below a certain income level.

Don't just send them a short payment, call them and see what can be worked out. If you need some assistance for awhile contact your local county government office to see what programs might be available for you.

gasoline or CNG-home or car?
if it's car-then nothing-you have a limit on your card-if you reach that limit then you get cut off. if it's your home then you need to contact your supplier and ask them how to go about paying less than the full amount-it's their decision as to whether you can or not.
