1) If you have at least $45, go to www.suzeorman.com and buy the Platnium Fico Kit...it not only gives you all three credit reports but also shows you what may be hurting your score & how to fix it.
2) If you have at least $200, you can apply for an Orchard Bank secured credit card. Charge no more than $25 per month and pay it off each month. Orchard Bank reports to all three credit bureaus and as long as you don't over-charge or miss a payment, it will boost your score by around 10-15 points per month.
3) Pay your bills on time each month and start paying off old debts (Start with the smallest, most recent bills. Don't worry too much about medical bills. And debts that are more than 5 years old will fall off in two years and creditors won't pay too much attention to them anyway).
4) Aside from the Orchard Bank card, don't apply for any new credit. This can ding your score by up to 20 points.
Best of luck to ya!

Pay off open debts, the smallest to largest. Keep the accounts open after you pay them off, but do not charge any more to them.
Contact the 3 credit bureaus and get a copy of your report - if there are any errors, correct them - you can pay someone to do it, or do it yourself. If anything is wrong, contact that company and the credit bureaus and ask the company to prove it is right - if it is wrong it will be removed - if it is right it will stay.
Stop spending more than you make.
It will take 6 months to a year for this to start helping your credit, but it will come back over time.
