My sister died of cancer 4 months ago, she had sold her home and all her money was used towards her treatment. There is no estate left, as a matter of fact I can't collect the additional expenses that I had with her funeral. After her funeral, I did what I thought was right, called her creditors provided them with copies of her death certificate, returned her car. Little did I know, that this act of mine would open a pandora's box, because these companies are sending letters addressed to her estate and I called them explain to them what happened provide them with copies of her death certificate but they don't get it, once another agency comes into the picture I start all over again and is very frustrating what is going on. What can I do?

There is a hosptial here in cleveland called Metro health, its one of the biggest hospitals around here, and they offer a rating program where you go to a counselor and are rated a 1-5 for financial help, 5 covering about everything and 1 covering about 10 percent of your bills. I am going to make an appointment and hope to get a 5, I am unemployed and have been since last October. They didnt ask anything abou tmy husband and how much he makes or any of that just said for me to come in w/ my own papers, so im hoping they base this on just me. Has anyone else ever had this done? I really need my dental work done and they have an excellent dental facility there and i need some cavaties filed and i have beginging paradontal disease and they mouth just hurts alot so im praying this works. Thanks

anyone w/ any info

I am unemployed currently. I have about $15,000 credit card debt and a $15,000 car loan. I have alot of credit and could live on that for a while, but it seems silly to be running up my credit card balance. I have never been on welfare. Do you think I should apply for it?

Today I went to the bank and deposited a $1000.00 check. When I returned home, I checked my online statement and saw that I did not only have the $1000.00 pending deposit once, but twice. I suppose they entered it in the system twice or maybe a computer error.

Since, I am waiting for the pending deposits to go through, I am deciding what I should do. I know the ethical answer, but before I do anything I want to wait and see if they mistake corrects itself before it is actually in my account.

If the money does end up in my account, I wonder what I should do. Should I see if the mistake gets noticed? I know not to spend the money because the bank will take it back as soon as it is noticed. Would it be unethical to transfer it to a higher intrest savings account since I get to keep the interest? Or- should I do the right thing and inform the bank of there error? If I do inform them, will I get their employee in trouble?

What would you do in this situation?

ok my available balance is -$20.00 because of something that went through, but my current balance is about 500. Can I put money in and stop the late fees at my bank because the actual current balance is not negative? also it was only one charge that made me go over so will I only be charged one late fee?

And if so, how was your expreience with them?

I'm very leery of giving any of these places my checking account info. over the internet, but their terms aren't as bad as some payday loan places, so I'm hoping someone can tell me if they're legit or not.

(I know, I know, payday loans are bad. But my car is acting up, and it's really bad timing for that since I'm moving into an apartment this weekend and have to pay rent + electric deposit (thanks to my ex husband not paying his bill on time, long story) + daycare out of the same check.

I'll be fine once I get my next check on Sept 15th, my car is paid off and my rent, electric, daycare and my cell phone are the only other bills I have going right now.

I know the interest is outrageous, but if I keep driving my car the way it is 1)I'll probably damage other parts, so it'll end up costing more to fix, and 2)if it stops running completely, I'll have to pay to get it towed anyway...

Thanks in advance for any input!

I'm using MSMoney. It's a great tool but time consuming. What has worked for you? How did you make it easy enough that the whole family was able to participate?
I make a very good salary and have a fantastic career, but still find that we are living paycheck to paycheck.
Any advice would be great.
