I currently work in ordinary office job and will be finishing MBA school next year. I'm rather tired of doing the same thing month after month and was thinking of taking some time off after graduation. Thing is I still have bills to pay..can I apply for unemployment or assistance for some kind? What's the best way to finance this endeavor (legally)?

The best way to finance taking time off is to save up for it, and live off your savings during that time. No, you wouldn't be eligible for unemployment or other assistance. Why should anyone work if the taxpayers will just support you if you don't happen to want to? You want to take time off - that's fine, but it's on your own nickel.

No, unemployment is for people who lose their job through no fault of their own. It is not for people who are tired and want to goof off.

Ah, life if tough.

Maybe you can convince a rich uncle to die, so you inherit a few billion dollars.

There is no way. if you voluntarily leave a job, you can't get unemployment. If you get fired for insubordination, you won't get it either
