If you put someone else on your checking account do you both get a debit card and checkbook?

I asked this question a while back and didn't get any answers. Discover has been issuing DEBIT cards since 2006, and they have a full website (http://debit.discovernetwork.com) devoted to this product, which seems to have some great consumer benefits, but the thing is I can't find a bank/credit union that issue's them...Does anyone know of one?

I'm 27, and I spent the better part of mylife screwing up my credit in one way or anouther. I got married and help my wife screw up her credit even worst then she had it when we got together. A few years ago, I started talking to a creditor and made arrangements to western union them some money. I never heard from them again and more to the point anouther company rose in there place collecting for the same bill and stateing that they never even heard of my payment. This made me scared to pay anyone. I concitered doing backrupsy but was talk out of it. Now I want to make a real effort to fix my credit and buy a house. How do I get started. Is there some group or orginization that can help me concolidate my bills or at the very least tell me who I owe and the best way to pay them?

What do I do?

I have 2 credit cards with a significant amount of money owed to each. Is it smarter to consolidate the 2 cards into one or just continue paying as much as I can each month on each?

Does anyone know how much FICO scores drop when applying for loans or aquiring bout loans, credit cards etc....? I heard each time you give your SS# for applying for loans or credit cards it lowers your scores? It doesn't if you look at your own score, right?

My husband and I have a plan to have all our credit card debt paid off over the next year. We only have one major credit card and we do have a solid, healthy, excellent credit history. We are wondering if we should close our major credit card account and truly try to live off what we make w/o having that easy out of "oh just put it on the credit card."

We do have family who could loan us several thousand dollars if a true emergency arose, so it's not like we really "need" it for an emergency.

When you have a solid credit history and rating, is it okay to close out credit cards? Or will that hurt your rating? Has anyone been in this same predicament?

So for five years or so I was really broke and I've accumulated a lot of small old bills. Nothing really big, $100 here, $300 there, all told it's under $5000, which I realize is not much compared to folks that have a ton of credit card debt, of which I have none.

I have a good job now and I'm able to cover all of my living expenses, but I can't generate any extra money to take care of these little bills all over. I don't want to declare bankruptcy, but I really want to improve my credit rating and find some way of dealing with these bills. Are there any services out there to help a person in my situation? Any input is greatly appreciated.

Between us, we have bad credit rating, ccj's etc (which we are desperately attempting to clear)so cant get cheque accounts either jointly or individually.
What effect will this have on him trying for a Business Account which he will need to go self employed?

I've recently applied for and was offered two AMEX cards: One (charge card with 14.24 APR option, 1% cashback directly deposited into a savings account) and Blue ($2,00 credit limit, at 0% promotional APR, 1 percent cashback I think). I was also approved for a Discover Platinum ($4,000 limit, at 0% promotional APR, 5% cashback).

I'm about to make a big airfare purchase for about $2,000 and want to make monthly payments and pay it off before interest charges accrued. My goal is to establish credit with these new prime creditors. What is the best plan for making this purchase using one of the cards (or multiple cards)? Pros and cons? Should I call to convert Blue into Blue Cash for their 5% cashback offer? Should I request credit limit increases for Blue and/or Discover just in case I use one of these cards and my credit utilization won't look "maxxed out" from the onset?
