I have just moved into rented accomadation where 8 previouse tennants rented, all of whom have had bad credit listings.

I have tried to open a bank account and get a credit card all of which, has been declined due to this problem.

what can i do, or who can point me in the right direction for allowing me to open a bank account when my own credit rating is good.

I'm 26 and I have no credit history at all. I'm always needing to make a purchase online like air tickets or internet courses. Right now I am not able to get a loan for school, a home, finance a car, or even get a cell phone. Should I really get a protected card and work from there? If not, what can I do to establish even a wee bit of credit??!!!! I don't want to go into debt! THANKS

How can it go up? Will it effect which job I can get, the college I can go to, the house I can buy? What else can it effect, and what is it really? How important is a credit score in your life? What happens you when you fail to pay your debt and your credit score goes down?

I asked to see the letter they refused in an "at will" state they did not have to show me it .. but I'd like to know why my co-workers knew about the letter and some of it's contents when I wasn't allowed to. It was about me & accusations about me that were untrue and not prooven to be true & could've been written by anyone with a grudge.Isn't that stuff suppossed to be private and kept confidental....not shared with co-workers? spoke w/co-workers after I left & they told me the boss went & asked everyone repeatedly if they wrote it or not? Then had a meeting telling them if in the future they had issues to come to them personally if a letter is written to please sign it. Could this be because I filed for unemployment and unsigned accusations may not be enough to stop me from collecting..even though I've had previous warnings the whole reason for termination was a letter they got threating to go to the state. If there was no letter I would still be working there today.

used trucks are like $40,000 and used trailors can be found for less than $10,000 so the total loan amount would be $50,000.

Apparently it is like a checking account card. You can have your paychecks direct deposited onto this card and you can use the card at most atm’s to withdrawl money. You can pay your bills online….and just like a checking account if you overdraw the amount they will charge you insufficient funds fees. I’m curious about the direct deposit. Will most employers direct deposit to this card since it is not technically a bank checking account? The card is owned by Meta-Bank but I just want to be sure before I decide to try it… Also if anyone has had any problems with AccountNow I’m curious to know.

I have 2 old credit card accounts, one is collection and one is showing charged off as bad debt , that I could payoff in 2 yrs, or I could do nothing and they will rotate off in 4 more yrs. If I pay off the accts, will it improve my score or hurt it? I'm afraid they'll be on my report for 7 more years from payoff date (9 yrs from now) even though finally paid because they were collection accts.

They want over 7,000, but are offering me a settlement of 2,400. They wanted it all at once, or in 3 payments of 800. I told them I cant afford that, and could give them 250 a month. Now they are saying yes they will take 250, but I will have to pay the entire 7,000. How do I get them to keep the 2,400 deal, but make the payments of 250.

I am very bad with these things. I am bad at negotiating.

If they dont accept, how long do I have before they can sue? How can I stop them from lawsuit?

I've heard that if you owe let's say $1,000 to a collection agency you can tell them that you'll settle for $500 w/ one payment but not until you recieve a letter from them stating that any bad reflection on your credit report will be erased. like you were never late on a payment. Also can credit cards go after your assests for an amount of $1,000? How long will these delinquencies stay on your credit report? I've heard after seven years it will be gone even if you don't settle with the collection agencies.

My friend was leaving in Canada from past 4 yrs and he recently got permanent residence their.

During past 4 yrs he had credit cards ( which were issued by some institutions basically with just details of his Name, Date of Birth and Home Address) seems he hasnt provided them with his Social Number (SSN/SIN) at that time to obtain credit card.

And he moved out of the country last year and is planning to return back to canada this year since he has got his Permanent Residency their.

Now the question is, can he Re-apply for Fresh/New Credit Cards again with his new SSN/SIN number and re-eastablish his credit History??

or if he applies, is he liable to pay the old dues first before getting a new credit card??
