I currently have eight credit cards but only use four of them. Right now only three have balances. I watch my credit score and in the past three months it has dropped from 735, 724, 718. The only thing I did different was about four months ago I got three new cards and this month I have a much higher balance than I normally do. Now I will pay down the balance and dont plan to get any more credit cards. Here's the question: Which will raise my credit score...to leave all eight accounts open and only use four of the cards or to close four accounts and leave four open?

I would like to close out several of my open credit card accounts that are never used. Is this going to lower my credit score? Should I space them out, i.e. one per month or so? The more info you can provide to me, the better. Thanks so much!!

I've made every payment on time for the past two years. However, I've taken out a lot of new credit and have used a lot of it to start a new business, which has lowered my score.

I was just approved for a apartment and I'm 9 months pregnant. I have to put down a deposit and 1 months rent. I don't have it and need to know which is the best way to get a loan without having a bank account and having bad credit (blame it on a family member). I can't ask anyone in my family so how can I go about this?

Regarding a purchase mortgage
1. If you shop around too much, it will lower your score
2. You have a "window" of 2 weeks to shop til you drop and it won't hurt your score.

I've heard conflicting things. I've heard that they don't have any legal authority and can't collect a cent unless you voluntairly pay. I've also heard they can sue you. What happens if/after you send the cease communication letter? Can they still go after you.

I hear it all the time in movies and tv shows and they want money unmarked bills what does that mean every dollar has a serial number on it and can be traced are they just talking about tracking devices on the money or does it really have to do with the money?

My ex husband was ordered to pay all of our jointly combined debts in our divorce, but to my knowledge and credit report he hasn't. How do I go about repairing my credit or disputing these overdues, since they are no longer my responsibility? Pretty much everything is now in collections and I couldn't apply for credit for toilet paper at this point.....how do I fix it, I can't afford it all by myself!!!
