My ex husband was ordered to pay all of our jointly combined debts in our divorce, but to my knowledge and credit report he hasn't. How do I go about repairing my credit or disputing these overdues, since they are no longer my responsibility? Pretty much everything is now in collections and I couldn't apply for credit for toilet paper at this point.....how do I fix it, I can't afford it all by myself!!!

It's going to take a long time. I would write all 3 credit reporting agencies and see what you can do. If you need to buy something in the next 5-7 years you may have to rely on a friendly relative with good credit until you get it all paid off.

I'd take it to court especially if he was ordered by a judge to pay the debt and he hasn't. I saw a case like this on Judge Judy. Can't he be put in jail for that? I'm not sure. But whatever way possible to get YOUR name off those credit cards...I'd do it. Try talking to the credit card people and explaining that you are no longer responsible for this debt. Maybe that will work. I sure hope so, too many people have been burned by credit cards.
