I can totally answer this. I have worked a while in financial commerce positions. Please follow these steps.

1. Get a copy of your credit rating from the 3 major credit reporting agencies. They are require to give you 1 free copy of your credit report each year. OR could buy a copy at a local place near where you live (with identification) and it is about $35.00 for all 3 reports at once. These are listed in your local phone book.

transunion (1-800-916-8800)
experian (1-888-397-3742)
equifax (1-800-685-1111)

2. Once you get the credit report, examine it for accuracy. If you find errors, false reporting, things more than 7 years old, or someone else using your identification (identity theft), then you file a form which is provided you with the report. Each disputed report must be filed on different dispute forms so photocopy it as many times as you need. Then mail them back to the credit reporting agencies. Those reporting you have 30 days to respond. It is a lengthy process but the only true way to clear it. If someone is impersonating you, contact your local law enforcement officials and file a report.

After you have correct the reported errors get another updated credit report to make sure it is cleared and that your rating scores have increased. Do this 1 time a year to maintain accuracy.

First obtain your Annually FREE credit report from www.annualcreditreport.com

Once you see what you want to dispute you can file online claims disputing the information. The credit bureau has 30 days to investigate. If they don't they must remove item from your report. Also try going thru the company to have things removed especially if it is not correct.

This can be done with a little time and effort! Well worth it! Keep in mind most companies....change addresses and such making it easier to get things dropped!

Good Luck!!

I suggest this reverse phone lookup service: http://reversephone.toptips.org

It's a cheap service that works great!
It could be used for a much deeper search. You can use it to get hold of different varieties of background reports, and in addition cell numbers, addresses and names..
you can get unlimited reports... I ran with this because I required to verify more numbers. You can get the name, other phone number, address history, relatives, and much more about anyone!
The completly free reverse phone lookup generally doesn't provide anything interesting. To get interesting information, money will must be paid. The free searches don't provide considerably more than what may be found through the phone directory.
The reverse phone detective search tool does work, but you should use just the service that I posted above. The last thing you want to do, is pay for a service and find the numbers you want to lookup are not available in their directory.
The service that I reccomend doesn't have any kind of problem , you won't get any bad surprise!

File a complaint with the credit bureau and you'll have to go through a lengthy process to reverse the information that will require proof.

You don't, but you can send letters of explanation to the reporting agency(s) that will be included with your credit report.

You need to contact the credit bureaus and dispute the entries that you feel are listed incorrectly. Let them know why they are wrong and if you have documention please provide copies to them. They are suppose to investigate anything you feel is not correct.
