I was thinkin either the top pick one (visa), the discover classic student card, or the chase platinum student mastercard. The rewards things aren't important to me, and the only reason I want a credit card is to establish good credit early.

On my credit report there is a car that was repoed and I know after so long it should be taken off. However, for the past couple of years it says "write off" next to it. Meaning, they finally got the paper work in order that says I didn't have to pay them off. Anyway, my question is what is the point of putting it on as a "write off" Why is it listed at all? Should it be?

What if you have a credit car and don't use it? Will that be good for your credit score? Or will it be no efffect? Should you use your card at least once a month to improve your credit score?

Is it better for your credit score to pay off the entire balance of your credit cards or to maintain a balance and pay the minimum amount every month so it shows your making payments on time?

Does your credit score start dropping, become stable or increase.

I mean after paying them off, you don't use your credit for a while.

To make a long story short, this CA (Cavalry) has put a bogus collections on my credit report. Never had an account with AT&T wireless , and when called the OC, they couldnt find any evidence of me ever having an account with them under my SS#. So I sent the CA a VOD dispute a month ago, got no response back, but they are still updating on my credit report. The point is I know they are in violations, but what I want to know is how long I should let them continue to up date my report before I file a suit against them? Is it the many times they update which is a violation, the more dollars signs I can get? I also disputed it with the collection agency and in return they just up dated it.!! I knew that was coming because the CRA doent really investigate truefully, they just send things out the the creditor, and if they respond its my word against theirs. Which I end up screwed.

Im trying to improve my credit score, (which is in the medium poor range), I just opened an unsecured credit card with a small credit limit, (300$), I was thinking of opening another small acount, Would opening an additional small account and keeping both accounts in good standing improve my credit score more or less than just maintaining the one account that I have opened?

Due to a situation I'd rather not go into my credit cards were cancelled. My bank just has ATM cards, no debit visa/mc cards, so I can't use them.

I've seen online a couple times where you can get a card that is prepaid, but they always had huge fees, annual contracts, etc. I think it'd be awesome if you could just buy a credit card up front like a Gift card for a store except it be a Visa, M/C, AMEX, or Discover and could be used anywhere & I could buy it in the denomination I choose.

They do it for phone cards and gift cards...why not CC#'s? Is there such a thing?

I wanna buy something online before the sale is over 6/13/06 for $50 cuz you get $40 back on it.
