Depends upon the statue of limitations for the state you live in when you obtained the loan, and where they are located.

That's too old. You can probably ignore them.

You didn't have a judgment put against it or anything, did you? If not, I mean, they can still try to collect, but it shouldn't show up on your credit anymore, so unless you just feel like you WANT to pay it now, I don't see why you would. In an extreme case, it could even hurt you to pay now. Just leave it alone and see if they will go away.

after so many years your bills on a credit report will be taken off.i had a few doc bill and i was shocked when i ran a report and they were gone.they write it off just like the credit cards do. i would just wait and see what happens. be careful too.these collection people are sneeky, know your rights .they can not call your job talk to other people or call your house if you tell them not too,or call your family. you can write them a letter make a copy.tell them to leave you alone.because they will threaten you been there,i told them i was going to call a lawyer they never call again

any debt longer than.7. years cant be collected this is law...
